Ace Mix at 50

50 days under 12/12, that is. What a beauty! Anyone want to hazard a guess as to her genetics? I don't have a clue. I do get the feeling that despite her massive girth, she's not quite ready for a flush yet. She's magnificent. Would love to hear your thoughts regarding parentage as I would like to start planning an exit strategy.

Oh - and the last pic in the thumbs (a bit dark) is another Ace Mix at about 30 days. She's incredible as well. Gotta LOVE Ace genetics!

Thanks so much, KSP, Bacchus and resinryder. Glad you are stopping by!

Yes, I have no idea what she is. She looks stature and bud density seem indica to me - since I LST'd her, I have no idea how tall she would have been - although my sense is that she would her development is different than some of the other sativas that I have grown. She's still kicking pistils however and her resin distribution and calyx size seem -so far- to be sativoid. The glands are copious but more on the calyxes and not so much on the leaves or stems. She's at 53 days and her glands are still fairly clear. I have started to flush my NepJams planted at the same time. I'm still feeding this one the full hit. Feel free to hazard a guess - I have to figure out an end-game strategy for her as I'm going away for 10 days on Monday. I want to decide whether I should start flushing her or not. At this point, I think I'll wait until I get back.

Mainly, I'm just awestruck.

nice. looks like maybe a kali/china cross. I think that is in the recent mix pack. What kind of smells are you getting?

Must be a Chinese hybrid. I'm quite sure it's a KaliChina (Kalimist/China x China), or a Chinese fem. ?? Your Mix pack was in regular form or...

Hey all...sorry for the late reply to your comments and kind words. I was away on vacay. I came back to find this plant to be even larger than before. Unbelievable!!! Thanks for your thoughts - when folks say Chinese - is this Yunnan? Or some other seed stock?

Also, any thoughts as to how long this should go? It's at about 66 days now. Very hard to check trichomes as the leaves are not too frosted - the calyxes - however, are white and glistening. This is an unknown quantity and I'm stumped. The trichs that I have seen appear pretty clear - but I can't say this with certitude. Any thoughts? Suggestions? Much obliged!!

I have never grown anything like this - ever- will try to get a picture (or so) up.

Ace Mix at 66 Days

Ace Mix at 66 Days

Hey, Ace-heads - Here's some pix to jump-start yr imaginations:

As stated earlier - this plant redefines my previous concept of "kola." We are talking serious beef on the hoof. These pics still don't quite do justice to her majesty...but at least you'll get a sense. I'm in awe. Serious, worshipful awe.

...And yes - this came from a -fairly- recent pack of regular non-fem Ace Mix.

Wow! It's a chinese hybrids for sure ... i first thought it was the kali china x china hybrid but now looking at leaf trait (vietnam black mum leaf) im quite sure it's orient express :)

We also included OE inside some standard ace mix packs. I think you are growing orient express right now so maybe you can compare the aromas and let me know ;)

Congrats for such great yield and healthy plant! It's a pleasure to see our genetics grown to the max!

Hi dubi...that's very interesting that you think this is on the Orient Express side of things. Thanks for the kind and encouraging words.

Here's some relatively random shots of some buds that have been curing for about 3 1/2 weeks. Hope y'all enjoy! Oh yeah...this stuff packs a wallop although I haven't been able to get to know it well enough to give a fuller report. The buds themselves are somewhat fibrous and not well-defined. They were huge. An interesting phenomena that I had not seen before is that the kola buds were soooo dense, they were not well-developed on the inside - against the main stem. No pistils or leaves to speak of - very sparsely developed. That said - they are coated in trichs...so play on!!

Ace Mix - Number 2

Ace Mix - Number 2

I also recently harvested my second Ace Mix plant. Looked very different from the one depicted above. This had a classic Xmas tree shape - with an amazing number of bud sites.

The most outstanding facet of this plants are the beautiful buds. They are thick - rock hard - and have beautiful auburn/reddish pistils.

I have NO idea what the genetics are for this. Here's a (not great) picture of her from several weeks before harvest. She developed much more but this'll give you an idea of her structure - despite my poor photography. Any thoughts as to parentage? I realize it's a guess. BTW, the high is sublime. I took her early - at about 62 days. I would have let her go longer but I've been having some mold issues and discretion seemed like the better part of valor.

Sure, congrats mayan! :) Im glad to see you are enjoying there!

The ace mix n1 looks a lot like orient express std (compact big yielding pheno), but i'd like to hear your opinion when you compare both ;)

ace mix 2 is definatly not what i'd expect to usually see in the ace mix but that's more interesting! I think is a senegalese hybrid, probably a senegalese x indica hybrid. Her flowering, the pistils of the dried flowers ... reminds me a lot the senegalese.

Thanks, dubi. Wow...Very cool! Senegalese? Fascinating. I'm growing out another (Ace Mix 4) from the same packet. So far, structurally, she looks quite similar to Ace Mix 2. She's just on the verge of flowering (been under 12/12 about 8 or so days) - like Ace 2, I'm letting her grow au naturel without LSTing her.

One thing that I noticed about both Ace 2 and 4 is a very noticeable crinkle/deformation on many -but not all- of the fan leaves. Some of the leaves are VERY deformed - some look like hordes of locusts have attacked - none of the other plants in the line-ups have shown the trait so I don't think it's nutritional or pH. It did not seem to effect the flowering of Ace 2 whatsoever so I'm going full speed ahead at any rate.
