sorry.. did'nt know am new here
I don't know mate, the guy didn't strike me as a terrorist of any sort, i was under the impression that the IRA were very strict about drugs and his relationship with McCain was nordle importing only for the UK market. I might be a fool but i tend to believe him that he's no hardcore criminal, he may have been done bussiness with some but that doesn't make him evil in my book... And after serving 7 out of 25 years in a federal prison sentenced on some grotesque RICO law my sympathy goes towards him even more...You go type whatever way you feel comfortable..
Howard Marks was just a smuggler who was operating in time of lax customs and became famous by tiresomely recounting his exploits again and again and again with embellishments and bells and whistles on.
He may have been called Mr Nice but the man had no qualms about selling his hash to paramilitary organisations..
Take the book with a grain of salt
and a seed is a start of a new life or many lifes.. and thanks for commenting and glad someone on here has actually spoke to me and knows him in person and can makes it on whole better to read knowing its a true story as thats what am a fan of.. and very witty, wise and intelligent manI have known Howard for quite some time and have always enjoyed our meetings/recreation together.....
Mr Marks is a fine story-teller and very humorous in person due to his constant wit, command of the English language and rich/warm Welsh accent.......and I am proud to call him a friend...
....He has lived the life of what some may construe as a 'Counter Culture Hero'.......and I salute him!
*The movie could have been better.......but would never compare to just reading the book Mr Nice.
