Here is a shot of a Jack Herer that i have been growing outdoor from a clone. She has been outside since the middle of June. I was wonder if you thought it was ready and should i chop? Should i let it go a few more days?

When you look at the trichomes under a 60x magnifier and can see that half the trichomes are amber, its time to harvest. there is no other way to tell.

Try snipping off the end of a sugary leaflet and put it on a table or counter inside your house, then use the microscope to look at it :) makes it easier

Very nice looking specimens by the way

looks like you've got the touch...you're real close on the herer's from what I can tell from the pics, I bet you're in the harvest window, but scope it anyway...

I will try that. Ive always wondered if people go by the tricromes on sugary leaflets or the tricromes on the buds. I have quite afew amber on leaflets.

Will be scoping in a bit.

Does anyone rinse their plants to get the dead bugs and debris that has gotten on the buds over the last few months?

barth your plants look great

sadly imo you took the Jack too early.

If you would have let the calxes swell and the hairs mature and the glandular trichomes to become bulbous and sparkly you would have had ten times the potency and probably double or triple the weight if not more. Im not knocking you though, looks like it is the real deal and your other plants also look awesome. Great job, but just remember if you think its ready, wait a week haha

keep it green

Next time i will. i already have it in a small indoor cabinet revegging. Ill run it again if it reverts. It smells wonderful. I couldn't imagine it getting any heavier, it would need some serious support.

If possible could you provide a pic of what "glandular trichomes to become bulbous and sparkly" looks like so i know in the future. If it is something that can only been seen by eye that's cool ill wing it.

My Canadian Purple Kush is starting to Hermi. The Trichs are 95% cloudy and 10% amber.

Should i just move it on the other side of the yard and let it go another week or chop it???

Nice garden, noob or not. If it's herming, I'd chop it. Don't want it to seed the other ones. But thats just me. Good luck and a happy harvest!

Great looking garden barth  Probably took the Jack early, but we learn as we do.

Try getting a good magnifying glass or a botanist's loupe for checking the trichomes. I think the radioshack "scopes" are dogshit.

I'm starting to agree about Radioshack scope. It can never really tell the trich colors with it. Ill look into a loupe.

I wouldn't worry about that hermie seeding your other girls. They're all waaaay too far along to even think of getting pregnant. IMO just let it finish.

I will probably do this. I was out there looking with a Loupe and there is about a week to go on the CPK. Probably a week or 10 days for them all. I can see 2 almost fully developed seeds in the CPK already.

This Valley OG Kush is hard to grow. I have had PM, Caterpillars, white flies. You name it wants to destroy this plant.

Next year try some spinosad to control the cats, and maybe Eagle 20 for PM.

KSP, I used Spinosad in the beginning to control but i found some dead leaves and buds last Monday and just picked the 2 little bastards off. Didnt find anymore. Would you use Spinosad and spray them with just 1o days to go?
