does 0-50-30 shrink buds?

Guy at LHS said 0-50-30 products will make buds big but after drying will cause them to shrink. any truth to this?

Yes. All buds lose ~75% of their fresh cut weight after drying. The 0-50-30 makes no difference in this regard.

not trying to hijack the thread but products like bushmaster,mega bud or dr nodes are the worse you have nice softball size hard as a rock buds on the plant then when they dry they seem light enough to float away pure heartbreak

I know buds shrink when drying, LHS implied using 0-50-30 will cause it to shrink more than normal. Idk...

WTF are you people talkin bout? anything close to 0-50-30 is Monopotassium Phosphate with epsom salts or other shit. anything that bulks up buds will NOT cause for airy buds. it should only aid in final density. If you are suffering, you may want to ensure your enviro is fully dialed, and you drying and curing properly.

Too high....you could be right.....my area dry area is not climate controled....temps are 60 to 90....night to day....inside my garage....cut whole plant.....hang for 5 days...then trim...off buds and check moisture with a moisture gauge inside jars....of course burp them twice a day till moisture is about 55%...then....just once every few days...still checking on them till long term storage.....

I have a buddie....who does the same thing....but has made custom drying racks that fit under his growing tables....allowing climate control of drying....72 to 80....
lights off and lights on......that is the only thing that is different....his buds turn out very dense.

what the guy could have been talikng about is the buds will swell, but in those combinations, without nitrogen, the plant will finish seriously prematurely due to stress. in my experience, dont use products like that until 2-3 weeks before flushing and all will be fine other than a little tip burn. actually lost a couple of plants trying northern lights, fat flower the first time, and hermied several others due to the extreme stress they incurred!
