now they're saying up to 5M w/out power.......

The outage was likely caused by an employee removing a piece of monitoring equipment that was causing problems at a power substation in southwest Arizona, officials said. The power loss should have been limited to the Yuma, Arizona, area. The power company, Arizona Public Service, was investigating why the outage wasn't contained.

"This was not a deliberate act. The employee was just switching out a piece of equipment that was problematic," said Dan Froetscher, a vice president at APS.

Homes and businesses were darkened from southern parts of Orange County to San Diego to Yuma. It also affected cities south of the border across much of the state of northern Baja. Border officials said crossings into California are open.

spare the air day(s)... it should help.
idk, your car running w/the a/c on is the only heat beater in socal right now. but you'd have to leave town or find a gas station w/its own generator to buy gas.......

Yeah power went about 3:30 on Thurs. We just got it back about 4 hours or so. Good times.

Real fucking glad I don't have a grow room running right now, the outage would have sent me on mega-tilt.

We lost power for a little over 30 hours this summer when a storm dropped a tree on the lines, because it was only our block that was affected, they had us last on the list to fix, as priority is given to outages that affect the most people.
I must have called the power company 5 times bitching about when are they going to come fix this, lol.

That's been the longest I've ever been out while growing, everything was just fine.

Yeah, my corner of San Diego is good, I wonder if everywhere is up and running. I kept hearing on the radio that this was unprecedented... and jeez guys, we've had power outages before but I don't remember ever seeing reports of looting. Was worried about food spoiling in the fridge when we weren't sure when the power was coming back on, I drank all my cannamilk and ate everything that didn't need to be cooked haha passed the fuck out and the power was on when I woke up. Also my little hydro garden shed was quiet, no air movement or water, hopefully this little of a change in the light schedule won't stress my flowering girls too bad. My thoughts go out to the larger hydro ops around town, hopefully everyone's okay.

Also was nice to break out the candles and light the fireplace even if it was a warm summer night, the house was quiet but people outside were going nuts, I think this turned into an excuse to get drunk and run around outside late into the night. And the stars were really out too! Even in the middle of the city which was a treat.

Had a bad storm couple winters back blew a tree on my house knocking out the power line. I was about 3 weeks into flower on a 6k setup. The storm was so bad and they were dealing with so many outages I didn't get power back for 4 days!

The way I see it is a failure of the infrastructure. Be it a private company or public utility our infrastructure is falling apart. It's either we can't (when did we become the country of we can't do anything) spend the monies to fix the public infrastructure, to the private companies not bothering to spend the needed ( gotta meet the projected profits for the stock holders) funds on upkeep. The country is falling apart, corporate greed, or or we can't afford it any more, the people are experiencing the end result. Hope your bridge doesn't fall while your driving over it.
They fixed most of our bridges, the head of the transportation committee is from our state,(who hoo our bridges wont fall down) we got the dough. Gotta love the American political system. greed over all. should be the motto
In before the bin.
