Ah, first 2 posters are correct imo, I was going to say some type of orb weaver myself.

I worked in a coal burning powerhouse about a year ago, in the basement level there were orb weaver webs in the steel that were literally like 8' in diameter. It was a spider heaven. Saw some funnel web spiders there too. (not Australian type)

Some of the pics you people posted are SICK. I would cry if I saw something that big.

Stoner - the 4-10 was a good idea... fuck pissing a spider like that off, aint no swatting involved with a spider that size. It's him or you!

Which this thread reminds me... it's that time of the year again here in the north, spiders gonna be moving inside the house. :fright:

def an orb weaver. i get them spinning webs 20 feet from the ground with runners from the high trees to the ground. some webs are 8 feet in circumference. very talented web weavers.

that's some serious shit homie. Baboon spiders are FEROCIOUS. You've really been bitten? Did it hurt? Did you feel weird after? I know they're not toxic but must have something. Ever had one like seriously bury it's fangs in you? That's insane dude. Also, I will never go to Australia because of the funnelweb.

god damn i hate spiders....real fucking talk!!

at my grandmas house we had a ton of jumping spiders...i would fall asleep and wake up with big welt bites on my legs each bite the exact hopping distance....i fucking hate insects in general, my grandmas house scarred me with alll their spiders and cockroaches..

sometimes when i was feeling brave as a kid, put on some high socks and gloves and walk around with a stick and a swatter, and a BB gun strapped to the hip....i would sweep my grandmas house and prod into corners and under bookcases with the stick, then kill anything that came out......i would even count my kills for the day...like 32 mosquitos, 7 jumping spiders, 1 giant cockroach, 3 baby cockroaches would be a normal day..

i would also set cockroach sticky traps at all the entrances, and holy shit we would catch alot of bugs in there, even a poor gecko once and a while....but damn whenever me and my brother would find a nice fat adult cockroach it was target practice time......its quite relaxing to watch a cockroach explode into peices after a direct hit with the BB gun...then i would feed all the body parts to the giant ant colony...that was my childhood lol..

Absolutely it's chilling. Spiders are cool, especially for pest control. I saw the web this morning and caught her hanging in the web tonight.

I would have scampered like a girl if I had walked into that thing though.

Love this thread! I gotta couple of tarantula's, Mexican Red Knee and a Texas Tan. NEVER handle them though, I've seen what they do to their prey...............
