Damage Control... help?

I messed up and plants are 6 inches from the hood...
They grew too tall. Vegged for too long, and the ladies kept stretching after I put them into flower... I learned from my mistakes, my noob ass shouldn't be experimenting just yet...
......Now for damage control.

I cut some of the buds that were about to hit the hoods... and I am starting week 4.
Plants are too bushy for me to tip them over under my nets...

My question is, if they are 6 to 8 inches from the hood, will they just burn? Should I just cut more off? I have already cut so much. Currently not using the glass on my hoods.... so another option is to put the glass on. But I will lose 15% lumens, correct?

Another issue is, they are so bushy that not enough light penetrates to the lower leaves. Is this a big deal? What type of damage control would you consider?

I second the motion on supercrop. Note some varieties will simply ignore it and straighten up in a matter of hours. Be prepared to tie them down.

I would also suggest to tie them down. I did that with mine because they were touching the glass. I think bud production is even better on some of the plants I tied down. Some even snapped later from the weight of the buds but healed up and are doing fine.
