Spider mites in mother tent, not in flower. What todo?

I was gifted a clone of sweet tooth a while back ago. When I brought it in I first isolated it and hit it with eagle20 and spinosad to kill any infections that could be hidden. After a week I added it into my mother tent with the rest of the population. That was about a month ago.

Yesterday I noticed those "spots" on the Sweet Tooth. I checks with a 30x loop and yep, it has the spider mites. Dammit! I checked the rest of my mothers and didn't find any traces of them, but I didn't spend too much time looking them over. I just sprayed all of them with my mite killer that has never failed me. I am sure the mother tent is safe now and I will spray 2 more times over the next 2 weeks to be 1000% sure.

Now for my main concern. About 5 feet away I have my flower tent. I am on week 5 of flower in there. Buds everywhere. I am worried the mites have made it in there, but I have not noticed it yet. I am not sure what todo. My flowering plants are some of the most healthy plants you have ever seen. Every single leaf is shinny green. All undergrowth has been pruned a long the way. Just 100% perfect looking.

I am not sure what my next move is.

I have wondered if since the plants are so healthy that their natural defense system could keep the mites from infecting them. Though I have never seen this for myself, only read that.

I thought about hanging some no pest strips during lights off and turning off my exhaust fan during that time as well. Do this for a week maybe?

I have no temperature control system in my setup, this is personal.

Any advice and/or ideas?

Moving forward, any new additions will go into my isolation station for at least a month. I learned my lesson.

I used Hot Shots no pest strips with good results last yr wen i got them inside by moving plants from inside to out, then back in while hardening off..Took a couple weeks but they worked, goodluck!

Hope they don't end up looking like this.

Oh Oh....SPIDER MITES

All mother plants destroyed but managed to get a few clones going and subsequently save this clone only strain.

From these early clones more were produced until I had a good stock of mums.

Then I thought....to protect this strain...I need seed. Identical seed....from a female clone only strain.

Colloidal Silver home made feminized seed.

SO I GUESS I'M SAYING WATCH OUT FOR SPIDER MITES.

I got slack, missed them and nearly lost a strain, colloidal silver saved me.

Always be good to your mum...mother plants that is.

Hey Herborizer, I stand behind Hot Shots no pest strips 100%. I have used this product which cost 4 bucks I or less at lowes and home depot. I have used it in my grow rooms over the years kicks azz! Try it or do the chemical thing, yuk. Hing the Hot Shots by a string and you will be surprised.

Oh yeah when using the Hot shots before you hanging out in you grow like most of us do, remove it or have plenty of ventilation. Dont want to inhale this stuff for more than a hour although manufacture recommends no longer than 4 hours.

all the talk of mite defense is great but the most important thing is to get that sweet tooth out asap. toss it or if the strain is that important to you then quarantine it for at least two weeks. after two or more weeks you should be safe one week isnt quite long enough imo. best of luck
