First post not first grow. Been doing the tree thang for a long time and decided to try something new. Researched new systems for months and decided to try getto`s brutes. Here are the details:

Strain: Krypto
Plants: 14
Lights: 13 600`s (homemade cool tubes)
Lumatek ballasts (adjustable)
Nutes: GH Spurr profile
Co2
2 AC units
AP-100 air pump
2 1800 gph pumps
2" airstones
1hp chiller

Week 1

Plants in. 4 lights on lowest adjustable ballast setting. PH 5.8 PPM`s 300.

Looking good so far.

:lurk: cool man front row. Should b good coz im in a situation where i need to keep numbers down so will b taking notes. Was also wondering if the system was recirculating, like an undercurrent or just the normal DWC. Good luck with it:)

Subbed for this one, since I am planning on doing something similar in my new 10x12x8 room after reading Gettogro's grow.
  1. What are your room dimensions?
  2. Do you have one pump feeding the Brutes, and one pump pulling from the bottom?
  3. I wasn't planning on doing vert lighting, since it seems like you need twice the lights. I was planning on two 60" dual cool tubes which are designed for a 4x8 each. I suppose I could do 8 600s... but that is an assload of ducting!
  4. What size control unit can you get away with? 20g big enough for all your sites?
  5. With that much water, draining every 7-10 days does not seem feasable. I do not recall reading if Gettogro drained at all, or just adjusted nutes as needed.
  6. What size feed and drain lines did you use?
I appreciate any feedback, and will eagerly watching this one!

What up guys!

Room dims are 10` X 20`. Lets see, the system is designed to flow exactly like the undercurrent. I have the controller (another 20 gal brute) on one side and two 3/4" feedlines on the opposite side. At the end of each feedline is an inline 1800gph pondmaster next to the controller that feeds into the controller. If you look at the photos, the 3/4" return lines are black, hugging around the brutes running in the middle of the room. The controller is in the next room out of the heat.

When the room was originally setup, I had lots of 600`s laying around and I used what I had. I like the 600`s better, just my preference, everyone is different. I do have other rooms I use 1000`s in.

The ducting is insane, with 1000`s you could minimize the ducting for sure. I`ll take a pic of the ducting (above the room) nightmare next week.

As far as nutes go, I empty the system and fill with fresh RO every 2 weeks and add nutes. Its probably not needed but makes me feel better. I have ran lucas formula in the past (with different systems other than this) and never changed the water out and had good results, just top off with lucas.

I do have to thank all the others who post even when bad shit happens because it is thanks to those people others are successful. I researched for almost a year before I decided to try this system. I`m posting in the hopes that I may help others, usually I do not post, just read. Been growing for 20+ years with just about every system available. I like new systems and this one is exciting for me.

A HUGE THANKS TO GETTO! for the inspiration.

I`m not use to posting, can someone help me with the pics, how do I get them to show up in the post full sized? For all the reading I do, I still cannot figure this out.

Nice looking room, should be a good show.

To post large pics go to your albums under the user menu. Click on the picture you want and cut and paste the BB code into your post.

When replying to a post, I hit the "forum album" button. A pop-up window allows me to view my albums. I find the one I want and drag it into the post.

Nice grow btw....

Everything is going good so far.Took the PPM`s up to 500 and the claw started. Backed em down to 300 and they`re fine. This method of growing is super easy. Hardly any work after the initial setup.

Wow looks great, Im flattered.

Be carefull with your veg time, I would flip sooner rather than later. I have 50" centers and 24x24 is the max size when I flip. I floundered last grow and Im keeping some bushmaster close by just in case.

Awesome keep it up

Looks good. Im in. I just built a smaller version of this. What do you use for the bucket insulation? Is it just the rolls you can buy form HD or is it cheaper somewhere else? Thanks GWE

Looks great, I have not seen a strain yet that would want more than 400-500 ppm's in this style of setup. I have got my eye on setting up a 10,000 watt undercurrent setup. will be following along.

For the second time condensed. I just typed up this long description with question responses and deleted it on accident. I can grow plants with the best of em but cant work a computer worth a shit. Week 3 started, plants exploded last week, conditions must be perfect. Got the cages up and we`re ready to get this party started.

Thanks getto for stopping by! I read every word of your threads here and at the farm. I will time it just right.

Green - Its reflectix from Lowes, wrapping all the components with this stuff is worth every penny in electricity.

Hack - You`re absolulety right. Mine is 400 max. Ove that and the claw.

Dyna - I have a 780cfm on the exhaust and A/C ducted in to the incoming to keep the temps perfect.

getto grow you inspired alot of folks with your masterpiece, I think alot of rdwc growers are a little bored with there systems and want to give uc a go. You could probably consult and set people up with this prototype in medical states.

Everything still going well. Keeping the PPM`s between 200 - 400 and the plants are loving it. PH adjusted to 6.0 and hits 5.0 within a week and adjust back to 6.0. Kinda trippin on the PH thing. Rule of thumb PH goes up, PPM goes down, juice to low. PH goes down, PPM increases too much juice, Stable PH and PPM, just right. So my shit the PPM`s decrease and the PH decreases, go figure. Thought I had root rot but the roots look great, no sign of any rot anywhere. Chiller set at 65. CO2 set at 1000ppm. Room temp 80. Gonna flip em soon.

Thanks for the kind words all.

The DIY cooltubes are a design I learned from Overgrow. They are pyrex bake a rounds. Check em on ebay. When I bought these years ago they were $10ea and cool tubes were $100+. Now you can get cooltubes on ebay if timed correctly for around $40ea.

Looks awesome,

I had the same problem with PH but only the last 4 weeks of flower. Ph and ppms would fall, but no adverse effects on the plants.

I would flip them now or keep a bottle of Pload or bush master close by just in case.

What is your plant spacing?
