I miss rep messages :(

One of my favorite things here was always the messages that people choose to add to their rep when they give it. All i read now is mostly "Helpful Answer Positive Rating"
Kinda sucks to read that over and over and over. And i miss all the cool/witty/stupid/kind things people used to post in rep messages.

Am I alone thinking this ?

Another thing a good friend here pointed out to me was the posting features that are still available while posting a rep message. Takes a bit longer, but i like to do it sometimes.

You can change the color of the words in rep, just as i do in my posts on the boards. And you can put pictures in rep messages.
You have to learn the code to type.
For pictures put

around the addy of the pic.
For word color put around the words, [color=*green] [*/color] just replace green with whatever color you wish
Had to add the stars to get it to show up in this message, so remove them as well.

Yup, I dig on the little messages and try to leave them alot. I read all of mine. I don't know about the color or pics though. I usually keep them pretty short. Like:

"Right on Brother Bear, thats what I was thinking!"

Its a fun feature, but definitely hidden a little bit. Maybe post more in diff sections for more exposure? I like the 'new posts' feature on the left side of the page, lots to explore and read on this site for sure

I like the rep msgs. Its like a short pm. Good chance to holla at the homies and make new friends.
They're usually more interesting than "helpful answer positive rating"..

Even when someone has something bad to say. They can cuss you out in a private lil rep msg, and really let their feeling show without cluttering up a thread.
If some clown hits the lil "no" in the corner, he gets to hide in anonymity. Punk sh*t imo.

It's always nice to share a friendly message with somebody. During the days of OG, i thought the rep system helped boost the sense of community among fellow growers. It's one of the reasons why i now enjoy this forum as much as i used to enjoy OG.

I'm with ya, Bear. Helpful ratings are boring, I know why some forums do it... to cut down on clutter posts of 10 people saying 'looks good!' but that happens anyway so it seems ineffective. I like the rep because it's like a quick, private message board. And some of the messages I get there are hilarious.

i am lazy and constantly stoned . if you get a message theres a big chance it is confusing ramblings. forget about any pictures or colored lettering. i barely find my way to ic.
