Anyone ever measured weight of drying crop day by day?

I would like to be able to get better estimates on what my final dry weight is going to be because the tension is always killing me the whole week I'm drying. I know I could measure it freshly cut and then work out a formula but for several reasons I don't like doing that.

Anyway I was just wondering if anyone ever bothered to weigh their drying crop day by day and record the results and put them on line. My guess is unless something is done to slow down drying the crop loses more weight early on, and less the closer it gets to being dry because the differential (between moisture content of green and humidity in air) is steadily decreasing so the air steals the moisture more and more slowly. Like diminishing returns.

I don't know too many people that want to handle there buds that many times.... I think the water weight is something like 75%, but I'm not exact. I recall there was someone over in blynx's forms that could call him on his wet weights. I will stop over there and see what i can dig up.

He has wet and try weight posted side by side and this should give you an idea of what you are looking at.

hanging racks/baskets can be hung from a scale and you can watch it dry. fifty percent and it will usually smoke.

I already know what my wet to dry ratio is. Mine dries to 20% of wet weight. I'm just wondering if anyone has studied the rate of drying. It has to slow down the closer it gets to being dry.

Yeah In have to agree. My exp have always been a loss of 75% of total weight, which makes sense because most of it's weight is water retained in the flowers, stems and leaves.

I would imagine that would be very labor intensive and really not worth the effort. Checking it every day won't change the final weight regardless so just relax and let it dry. :D
