I bought a box full of old grow equipment. It included the following:
4 1000 hps ballest with 6 bulbs
2 1000 mh ballest with 3 bulbs
2 large co2 burners
1 cdds1 co2 controller with sensor
1 cdds2 co2 controllerw/sensor
2 sun circles from old AH 1998-99
3 fans
all for $600
i have a 18' x 13' flowering room
Question Would it work if i installed both sun circles at lowest adjustment 9' dia. I would run 2 1000 hps and 1 1000 mh on each circle for a total of 4000 hps- 2000 mh. You guys are the pros so please advise. I grew soil back in 80's and 90's. But that was a lifetime as some of you know. thanks

Sounds like a decent score . I had a sun circle in the late 90's ..not exactly sure what your question is tho ..so i'll just mention the first thing that comes to mind when I think suncircle ...watch your head . Have fun and good luck in your endeavors

That would be about 25 watts of HID light per square foot, fine for vegging but a little weak for top quality bud formation, I find 40 to 60 watts per square foot to be the ideal zone. I'd just make the grow space smaller, how about 8x16 so each 3000 watts covers and 8x8 area that's about 47 watts per square foot, you'll have better buds and extra space to move around.

dexter is spot on for area the only thing that i want to add is run a separate timer for the circle and time it so that the circle runs for about 15 minutes after lights out to avoid scorching the tops of your girls

PS if the circles are real old (yellow/white/green) be sure to oil the electric motor

thanks dexter i may build a wall down center and have 2 rooms with a little work area. if i do that i can put a flop box on the rooms and save the other 3 ballest for a 6 x12 vertical on a ajoining room.

Thanks frank !! you saved some tops with that tip never would have thought about that until later lol Thanks

I love rotators, great coverage and the ability to mix different bulbs/spectrums. Just hard to apply direct cooling to. Here's my crazy solution, not exactly keeping it simple, but it does the job...

yep Always clockwise, so no way to cool lights. i do have enough air exchange though.
i think american hydro built these for 2 yrs. Going to put quick wall up today.

that's a shame suncircles helped me break 2lbs per 1kw back in the 90's my healthiest crops were grown using circles and they are the only discontinued product that i miss
