Plant Numbers Dictate Yield... FOG Grow

I normally defoliate my plants 2 weeks into flower but this time im not sure what way i will go weather i will let the plants do there thang or if i will strip them or even cut the fan leaves in half as a wise grower who i look to for mentoring from time to time once told me he was growing with some Dutch growers who use to cut the fan leaves in half when growing in tight situations rather than taking the whole leaf off.... have you herd of this before?????

Back on OG this was the consensus iirc, rather than fully removing the leaf completely.

If your not planning to re-use your coco you can start using the cannazyme from week 2 bloom rather than for the first 2 weeks when the roots will only be filling up the 3.5L pots.

btw Uncle LL, your an inspirational character!!

I'm really glad your doing this run, and hope to learn much from it as I'm planning a similar grow albeit much smaller, lol:) 2.4kw- 2 lights flipped every 6 hours ala heath stylee with but overhead lighting... Same number of plants as you per sq.ft (36 per 600w)... I think I could get 1.5gpw/ 20.83 per plant doing this if I ran the full 2.4kw for 12 hrs not sure what they will do flipped though and lekky usage doesn't permit the full 2.4kw.

Looking forward to see how you get on with the increased numbers, especially when you compare them to the stadium you have planned for us too :lurk:

I wouldn't suggest cutting leaves in half, but rather remove some entirely, and leave the ones that aren't blocking the front of the canopy.

My reasoning is possibility of infection. Cutting the leaves, you create a larger surface area of damaged tissue for pathogens to do their thing. Cut in the middle of the petiole, and you'll minimize susceptibility to pathogens.

It doesn't matter which leaf it's happening on, photosynthesis will occur... so completely remove the ones that are in the way. My $0.02

IM BAAAAAAACK :rtfo:

Glad to see your all on board.. :D

Right so to business then... had a few minor setbacks while i was away... half the cuts got squashed and the rest have only had 10 days veg and the new lot to replace the squashed lot have had about 5 days... ohhh the Drama lol....

anyway i been shopping... in the quest of excellence i have got some goodies that are well over due and some to satisfy my OCD... :blowbubbles:

new baby carbon for the night time temps...

new big carbon for lights on...

As the old Big carbon is only 3 months old i have chucked an 8 inch fan on it and left it in the corner of then room to try and suppress the smell later on...

picture.php

also for the last couple of weeks i have an ozone generator that switches on for 15 minutes every hour.. i did have this for the end of the last grow and they really do work... it leaves like a bleach smell i try not to smell it to much as its meant to be quite bad for you lol...

this next toy i have been waiting for, for 10 months... growell do a single nozzle version but this is a 3 nozzle version for a better less aggressive spray pattern.. it also has an easier to remove and fill 5 litre bottom tank...

picture.php

Last up for now is a Decent Humidifier with humidistat and auto topup from a 100L butt... apparently i need to run this on R/O as the calcium buildup from tapwater becomes a problem... we will have to see...

I like to call this pick the Calm before the Storm.... :alien:

Oh hell yeah laylow, you don't waste any time mate. Love all the new toys, I wish my room was looking as good as yours. How big is that room? You are tweeting your grow so damn good, what humidity are you looking for/stage of growth? Are you running drippers this time?

You got your work cut out for ya, that's a bit of a bummer on the dehumidifier, typical, spend some $$$ and having to spend more $$$ just so you can operate the damn thing.

Wishing you the best mate.

You are so going to kill it, Bloody hell this is ACE mate it is truly the dog's bollocks, but the humidifier looks a little dodgie their in the middle of the room?

Exactly what I been looking for. Always thought plant numbers dictate yield after falling short with tree grows on 2 runs. Trying to get mom big enough to be able to take necessary cuts. Looking forward to the grow bro.
