personally I would not call something that needs 2 months veg a commercial plant. Looks real nice though!

Same in BC Bob, the North American market has changed greatly in the past 5 years.

I am lucky enough to be able to travel and meet growers in many countries, and have come to learn that the EU market is a very different beast than the US one which demands not only monoculture (full bags of identical nugs), but also has a specific flavour and look profile that buyers demand.

In the EU, the market has not YET become so finicky. Autos are all the rage for stealth reasons, but this negates the ability to produce crops from clone and therefor you don't see large bags of perfect kush as you would in our markets.

Keep in mind, most EU countries have limits on electrical use with many households being limited to a Max. 3.3Kw draw... this probably has something to do with the need to grow outside, and thus the useful impact of the autos on early harvest, stealth etc etc.

I don't know, the way things have gone in the last even say 2 years have been an improvement, people want better quality in the UK now days, some seem sick of skunk and esp "cheese".. things are improving but most is sold on smell and smell alone!... snazz does well :) so i'd say the finicky is coming...

When i read these threads talking about how certain markets are so flooded now with quality herb.. It makes me so happy to live where i live.

Put it this way.. The country im from is like 10 years behind the rest of the world and no-one knows how to grow barely, or is too scared to on any decent scale.. I feel so fortunate to know what i know and to be around this market. Its so easy to be good when mostly everyone else is terrible at growing. Even schwag weed gets top dollar, theres basically zero commercial growers (maybe 1 or 2).. It's like the goldrush right now. Some of you guys would wet your pants in excitement if you had a market like i currently have. My main limitation is plant numbers which makes having a dedicated veg room essential if your serious.. One day soon the Govt will wake up and realise how many tax dollars they are missing out on and when that happens i will be all over that too. Thank God for ICMag keeping me in tune with the rest of the world!

Oh and big respect to Chimera for dropping in here ive been a fan of his work for a while now.

take care everyone

There is no other way thats more efficent then many small plants. Its very easy to do but labor intensive. The only part of the plant your interested in is the main stem top bud. Typicly you should get 28- 40g from ea plant evry 2 months. The more plants you can do the larger your yild will be in that year. Large plants need veg time so you need seperat areas to do that increases cost. If your not getting huge yieds with SOG there something wrong.

This is an old debate and it all depends on what type of facilities you have at your disposal.

If we have a 1m3 (cubic meter) surface to grow on, then it is undoubtedly so that you can pull much larger yields from using the vertical space as well as the horizontal space.

If you have a veg-room attached to your grow-space, then the 8 to 10 weeks you need to flower your plants is enough time to vegetate a new batch of plants into tall, bushy plants covered with bud-sites.

If your lighting is au point and well-set then you can blow any SOG grow out of the sky with 3 dimensional thinking rather than 2 dimensional.

But if you have only a grow/flower space at your disposal, then yes, straight from seed in 12/12 SOG style is the most performant in terms of yield.

The right phenotype of Jack Herer or NLxHaze, something quick but stretchy enough that you don't have to veg more than a few days.

If you have a clone that takes ten weeks but needs only a few days veg you hardly need a veg room, use that extra space for flower and the electricity you save without veg to throw another few lights in the flower room. Remember if you are vegging under 4 lights 24/7 that is the same as 8 lights at 12/12. Thats how we do!

just over a week veg with this jack and im averaging 4 oz per plant in 1 gal of rockwool

Can I have a little more info on that jack and your system... Grow thread? Cheers :tiphat:

i think the best is:

vertical sog , with technik like bubbler and without a veggi time.
and a 8 weeks pheno and makes 1/8g per watt.

it is possible. maybe without bubbler. Vertikal SOG HYDRO.

but 8 weeks pheno and a strong high yielder..

It is possible???
