What's new

underdeveloped trichromes/7th week of flower

So just like the title says my plants are not nearly as frosty as I think they should be although bud size/density is good. The only other strains I've grown were Blueberry crosses and were more frosty after 4 weeks of flower.

Strain: OGK (bagseed)
Nutes: GH Flora 2 part Bloom/ 1 part Micro, 700 ppms
Temps: Nutrient - 68F, Ambient - 80F
Humidity: 40% day/ 60% night

I read somewhere that OGK is an 8 week strain and aside from the issue I'm having they look almost done - most of the fan leaves are dying off and the 50% of the hairs are red now.

Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome

The scorched leaves in the pictures are from getting too close to the light.

If you're using all HPS, people report good results using the Blue type HPS horti bulbs.

The jury is out on UVb.

Or you can throw some fluoros in your room.

Its the genetics your using bro...not all mj is frosty until recently most mj from seed wasnt frosty you had to find it. Now its been more locked down and bred for. Check out seed boutique or seed bay they have some great choices that are sure to be frosty!

I think it's as much about light intensity as it is genetics.
I have some identical strains (not clones, so not identical) growing outdoors in 2 different locations. The ones with more direct sun are WAY frostier, and all were started at the same time.

Thanks for all the feedback guys and + rep to each of you.

Well I figured it out. I went to the hydro store today to get a new bulb and it came to me. My last bulb came with my ballast and cool tube, its a Plantmax. Decent bulb for the price but I've used it for 3 flower cycles already and they're only really good for one.

Doohh!!

Don't ask me why I never thought to replace it in between rounds, I wasn't being cheap I just never thought about it. Even after I noticed a significantly less amount of trichs between the two blueberry rounds, STILL it did not even cross my mind. oh well, live and learn. At least its an easy fix.

Anyways heres a shot of the chop.

Once this shit is dry the replacements should be ready for flower. Hopefully I can get the same yield but with some dank buds this time.

Peace
