^^^ SGS i've seen some AF's get huge in coco on here. If I weren't so lazy.busy I'd definetly give it ago.

The size difference is probably down to lighting?

hey guys, i dont have the origanal f1 of hk x af i had 1 seed left grew it out got a female & 1/2 way into flower decide i wanted to keep the genetics around but was too late to clone & the only pollen i had left was satori. i just checked & i have 13 seeds left of icon....is it too late i assume to make f2's from them & find af traits? i was thinking that they could be lowryder or ruderalis skunk when i was researching auto to narrow down but from the reports i read it didnt seem to have the potency that mine carried it was quite strong so i dont know but possibly. my 2003 af reeked like skunk & not like dutch sweet skunk but like roadkill the icon also reeeeks extremely strong like catpiss & burnt rubber from what i remember.

i think i have to agree with mitch as im using 192w t5's & they just dont have the penatration & intensity as mh or hps also the original plan was to grow these strictly outside (organicly in happy frog soil) so im just doing it this way for now just to make seeds for the future grows which will all be outdoors but i was also planning on doing a hybrid possibly to grow indoors too. maybe later in the year i'll try it again but under 600w hps & we'll see how it turns out. anyways thanks for all your input & advice you guys have provided & viewing my not so great grow.

If you save some pollen, perhaps cross it to a Non-AF which could knock the flowering time down or you might get some semi-AF's that flower sooner.

I think these would work outside for container grows, I'm not sure about planting them in the ground though as they don't get very large.

Who knows though if you have a decent climate? You may be surprised :)

Some of my LR#1 back in 2004 was so skunky it was hard to contain, LR#1 was very unstable when it was first released, the people that got some very skunky dank phenos where lucky but a lot of people got that crappy phenos, thus the great debate of LowRyder began...

Yah i forgot about your lighting, and sorry I have a bias toward coco, I hate the stuff, To me coco should be treated more like a hydro medium and given such newts and feeding schedules.
Hope you get as many beans as you can for the next run, Cant wait to see a proper grow with FFOF under the 600!

i have a perfect climate i live in southern california & everything just mitch - thrives here. i just recently tried to pollenate the female outside with lapis x gdp pollen my friend gave me so if that goes i'll have to grow them out to look for early flower traits & then cross those.

sgs - thanks for your experience input with lowryder it sounds like it very well could've been it i guess i was a lucky one that got a great pheno. i treat my coco as if it were hydro you could say, i use hydro nutrients the only thing different that i do from hydro is give coco grown plants more calmag plus thats it.i was a hydro grower before coco but i still use soil when growing outdoors.

update time: i was going to get floranova bloom but never did & ive been using iguana bloom instead progress is still a bit slow. ive collected a nice amount of pollen from the males.heres my 2 girls

cool thanks for the pic man, Ive never seen them so small before, hope they turn out enough beans for you for your next run under the HPS.

The colored Trichs are from the PINKBUD parent, its the reason PINKBUD hash is so dark, almost pure dark black hash!

i saved quite a bit of pollen i plan on crossing it to lazuliberry a creation of lapis mnt indica x blueberry sativa that i have starting to flower outdoors. i may also hit my pre92 afghan x purple urkle creation too.

i saw mitches text grow on the pinkbud i love the coloration on them thats part of the reason i wanted these that & the low price had me sold. thanks for keeping your seed prices low SGS! cant wait to start the f2's & do it the right way next time.

Sounds wicked! I would like to see pure Fruit Salad used in the Lapis mnt indica x Blueberry sativa, considering the Fruit Salad is 50% Original Blueberry, the breeding match would be better, shitty you dont have pollen from that now... damn missed opportunities.

Thanks bro, Prices are set with a few things in mind, cost of production (electricity, grow supplies), space used, labor and time, and a reasonable profit margin. Anything more then that is just greed...

I tried the sand and stuff. to be honest none of that worked for me in that the eggs are were in the soil Id bought and hatched with the seedling. The only thing that worked reliably and quickly enough to save things was mosquito dunks..( well I got nil nat, but same thing)

GNATS!!!!!! The Arch Enemy!!!!!

You want them gone or at least under control?? Then put 3/4 to 1 inch of very rough sand on the top of your soil, purchase sand in play form, like for sand boxes, that way you know it is clean of seeds and insects. You can also try putting 1 1/2 - 2 inches of very fine perlite. They are like shards of glass to the young eggs and larva, cutting the little bastards to shreds while young and soft. It also makes it hard for the adults to get deep into your soil through cracks and holes. This will solve all your problems with them trust me. Also put a few yellow sticky traps around the room where the soil line is,, this will keep the adult population down and interrupt the life cycle.

yeah about 115 i'll have to put the sog off for a little while though but will get some going outdoors end of winter. smoked the plant that i did outdoors i think i pulled it a week early but it had a nice heady euphoric buzz that reminded me alot of blueberry & gave me major munchies.

oh & i pollenated my afghan x purple urkle with one of the fs x pb fathers

Hey mate, goodluck on the grow.
Fyi, the best thing to use against fungus gnat larvae is mosquito dunks. The agent is a bacteria thats harmless to plants and humans. Gets into the larvae's stomach and makes them explode.
Theres a thread about it in the infirmary.
