I've got a 4x4 box that Im building. Im running a four inch exhaust up high and two 4 inch passive intakes down low and needed ides on light proofing the 2 lower 4 inch holes. The simpler the better. Any ideas or suggestions are always appreciated.

are the intakes on the side of the box or bottom?
build your own trap out of wood, perhaps 2 x 4's... and plywood.
my old cabinet had a 4 in passive intake on the bottom. i ran 2 x 4's parallel but staggered.
you could do this on the side of a box also, but it would require some plywood as well.
there is always PVC pipe, but 4 inch PCV is expensive...

Thansk GP73LPC there on the sides of the bow towards the bottom. Tell me more about the staggered 2x4s.
Post # 9 in the thread that desert joe put up is a good diagram of the staggered 2 x 4 's idea that GC73LPC suggested . its how i've got my intake for light proofing & it works well .
mine is a homemade box framed out like a room . so i just took one bay on the side wall staggered 2x 4's down the bay so that my intake on the outside of the box is mid way up the wall & inside the box the vent is on the bottom . so the air comes in from the upper vent ...passes through the 2x 4's down the bay & out the bottom vent in the cabinet .

A 4 inch PVC toilet flange on the inside of the box. A 4 inch 90 degree elbow attached to it from the outside, then painted flat black on the inside. A little light WILL still escape, but I 'soak it up' with a black t-shit lying on the floor where the remaining light shines. Now we have near total blackout AND pretty decent flow.
Kinda hillbilly, but works like a charm and is very low $$$.

To everyone that replied to my questions I truly thank you. I wasn't sure if anybody would reply or not. I hope some of you tag along when I begin my grow. Ill read the tread and get it done. I love the sharing of knowledge about this beautiful plant!!!!
