Ive grown plenty of paradise standard packs but would like to hear who has grown the all female seed lines.

What are your results with them consistently producing all females?

hey eyes

Ive been growing Sstar for years. Ive grown the fems now for 4. Im an outdoor grower.

The fems are very good, very consistent. In 20+ packs i havent seen a male flower.

BUT.... the fems cant be topped. If you top a femmed sensi star or take a clone from anyplace on the plant except a growing tip, you get very difficult and unatural growth and a 3 week delay in maturity.

The first year i grew them, i thought there were 2 pheno's, one christmas tree to 8' and another shorter, very bushy, very dense plant. A plant that in the outdoors i had to prune dramatically, perhaps cutting off 50 branches leaving what was a more normal number of branches. This second pheno reminded me of a polyploid plant.

The second year, i noticed that the only bushy, heavily branched pheno's were plants that were either topped or cloned. But again, i had to butcher the plants as they had so many branches that mould will kill them. Icut 50 or more - a pile of branches- from the plant.

The third year i popped 20 seeds and didnt top a single plant. Low and behold, there is only one pheno- a christmas tree shaped plant with a moderate yeild and good potency.

The fems are good, but topping results in unanatural branch development that resembles a reveged plant or a poly ploid. A 5' plant could have 200 branches on it going in every direction.

Wow, that's vry strange indeed. I was just going to throw in my 2cents and say I've had no problems with there fems, actually they were excellent. I have however only grown out 2 packs so I'm probably not the best person to answer this. DS, the behaviour of the plants that you mentioned actually resembles some of the things I've seen in plants grown from seed treated with Colchicine in an attempt to induce polyploidy.

Mountain monkey, thats exactly what the plants look like if topped: Colchicine induced growth. The plants just dont top well.

flo is the same way, if you top it, it doesnt branch and its just that short now. Ive heard Power plant shouldnt be topped. There are some that dont respond well

You can top a reg sensi star all day without problems, but not the fems.

I am now blown away and educated again. I have fem sensi star, ice cream, and white berry coming up. It appears I should not top the sensi star, ok. How about the ice cream and white berry femmed? Should I lay off topping those? Thanks for your help. I was going to throw in some female seeds black widow, any advice on topping them?
Peace and respect, MON

yea i'm a little confused on this too. i've grown out two packs of ss fems and never had this topping issue. one pack was from a few years ago and the other from earlier this year. i top them 2 or 3 times in veg and they grow into nice even bushes with thick stems with plenty of room between the stalks. i do some fan leaf clearing buts that really all they call for...

I dont know about the others but i doubt that they would respond the same way. Its really unusual that a plant shouldnt be topped and star fems are unusual.

The effect of topping indoors might not be as difficult as it is outdoors and because indoor plants are generally a couple of feet, the condition might not be so impacting on the grow. In the outdoors where the plants get 6-8 ft it shows up bad. Ill never top another one in the outdoors.

Ive grown out ten packs of Whiteberry, Sensi Star, Nebula and Acid. No problems with any of them and will defenatly be growing them all again :)

Whiteberry, like Sensi Star, is a single cola plant and doesnt respond well to topping.

I grew the Jacky White fem a few years back, no hermies, big buds, pretty standard smoke, not bad, but nothing special.

PARADISE SEEDS FANTHREAD
maybe you can do something with the informations in this thread
there are some strains from one of my favorite breeders from Holland.

best regards.

Not actually about their fems, but seems they are quitting their normal lines. At least Amsterdam flame is not anymore listed at their website. It was quite smoke back in 2003. I remember room full of silent people staring at wall. Priceless! :tiphat:

I ran 5 of their Vertigo fems this spring with excellent uniform results all around. Very potent and pungent pot.
