Disposing of Old Equipment

Just wondering what everyone does with their old hydro grow related items like buckets, bucket lids, totes, and tote lids. You can't really put these out to the trash or use them for anything else because of the holes cut in them. They are kinda obvious what they were used for, so how can they be disposed of in a safe and secure way?

All of that plastic stuff can be cut pretty easily to make it smaller..bag it and toss it.

No bonfires. You have a few good suggestions here. I would either try cutting them up and disposing them in a dumpster. The dump is also a safe bet. Just make sure to seal the bags up.

I reuse as much as I can. 5 gallon buckets with holes make great garbage cans and rubbermaid totes with holes are still good for storing clothes and other bulky things. Both make good things to prop stuff up with and its nice to have old ones around for testing drill bit sizes out and stuff like that too.

I use them to grow more cannabis.

If not I give them to friends who want to grow cannabis.

If not I listen to wisco61 ;)

i'd make em nice and craigslist em. Or take em back to a hydro shop and ask them to give away or dispose of for me...bless the next young green thumb.

Be carfull at the dump. Our dump is indoor you drive in and its like a loading dock. You back in and trough your trash down below where there are 20 guys picking though your trash.

Wear gloves and bag that shit up in black garbage bags, maybe even double bag it. Drive to a discreet dumpster not too close to your grow and first make sure it is normal for people to be disposing of trash there and no ones gonna come give you a hard time if your spotted and make sure there are no camera's doing survalience on the dumpster. Or if your not doing tear down grows why don't you just wash em out and reuse em...

you could get some big orange trash bags....bag the items up and put them on the side of the road....as if inmates had done it, then the state comes by and picks it up.

sorry....I've just always wanted to do that.

Cut it up and put in fast food bags. Dump in trash at gas station when you fill up. Or in the trash where you vacuum your car.

A lot of places around here have camera's, they really like camera's here, I'm sure other place's as well , check out the disposal site well, some places hide them well to check out people getting rid of household waste!
If you can't reuse I second the chop & disposal method just not too much at a time!:plant grow:

Thanks everyone for the ideas, I think I will cut it up in small pieces and dispose of it in over a period of time. This seems to be the safest option for my situation.

As a few people have pointed out any one dumping in dumpsters could be jeopardizing their safety and not know it. Cameras are popular around me as well, businesses want to watch their lots, doors, docks, and dumpsters. Residential apartment complexes use the cameras as a deterrent for vandal, illegal activities, and auto thieves, plus the extra security it's a good selling point for the potential tenants. Security cameras have been gaining in popularity and are pretty much everywhere. Some of them are really high quality and able to provide a clean shot of your license plate or face from a good distance away. Some of them are very small and you would never notice them unless they were pointed out to you.

For me it's not worth the risk dumping anything illegal or grow related in a dumpster, even if you don't see cameras around the dumpster that doesn't mean they aren't there, or that one of the neighboring places doesn't have them.

Thanks
and
Stay Safe

Wipe fingerprints off everything, stomp the shit out of it, drop the busted plastic stuff off at the recycle dumpster.

For other stuff, dumpster at shitty apartments, alternate dumpsters/properties. If you're that worried park and walk it to the dumpster like you're a resident.

The only people that will find your shit is guys looking for cans to recycle, and kids dumpster diving... they're not going to call the police.

man,

you need to recycle the stuff that can be recycled..

is this how we should act about our planet people?? just throw it into the dump....shameful

if you bought it and is "yours", you need to own up and take responsibility and do the right thing of disposing of it properly

the earth is not a trash dump
