Should I get rid of my bitch cat?

So, as long as you love and give her treats she uses the box, you quit she quits.
Who's training who here? I'd try to keep up with the reward system since it seems to work, eaiser then cleaning up the mess. Good luck and Grow on, Fred

Sounds nice, but screw that, my landlord doesn't reward me for using the toilet. I'm not a fan of catering to bs, and thats what I've been doing for a while and I'm sick of it. Don't take it personally Fred, Its just the way I roll. Good solution for someone, just not me.

If you starve the cat enough, and make her meals (not treats) dependable on whether she uses the potty, you should not have problems with her losing intrest.

it's obvious you like your cat very much, keeping her for so long, even when you say shes a bitch and pisses all over your place. Tough love is the thing that usually works. Or Prozac :)

I hear ya Sam, Have been owned by more than one. Never had a box issue though, have had others, I usually cave to their demands, I,m too soft or Mama has last word. Have to hand it to you for putting up with this for as long as you have. Options are limited, so thinking outdoor might be only course, if she still has claws to defend herself. Sorry can't be more helpful, Grow on,Fred

I would like for her to be an outside cat, but she is too much of a wimp. She gets scared real easily and runs to the door and starts scratching for me to let her in. When I leave the door open, she goes outside for only 10 minutes then comes back inside and hangs out. She also doesn't socialize well with other cats. She acts nice at first, then she hisses at them, then they whoop her ass. There are many strays that rule the roost around here, and on an occassional full moon they will try to socialize with her, but the inevitable usually happens.

meowman- as for starving her, I would have to agree about it being effective but it would raise another issue she has, which is puking. When her food is low, she will stop eating and start begging for more food. If I don't feed her and wait until she empties her bowl, then put some more food in there, she pigs out and scarfs down so much she pukes it right back up. Then I have to clean up her puke along with her shit all while smelling the stinch of her piss.

Last night was the tipping point. I came downstairs to find puke, then 8 feet away brownies. I cleaned it up. The puke was half hairball half food, so I mixed a anti-hairball treat with a small can of soft food and gave it to her. She immediately lapped up all the liquid slime portion of the soft food and ate none of the turkey. About 5 minutes later she starts hurling up pools of slimey puke right in front of me, one pool, then another, then a few more small spots from what looked like dry heaving. I then proceeded to clean it all up, begrudgingly, I mean, its not like she was going to do it. Right as I clean up the last few little spots of puke, I hear water trickling. I look up, and there she is right in front of me about 6 feet away with her ass facing me squirting out a piss, wtf.

I nearly F'in lost it at this point, I yell NO. The little pisser runs into the other room where I then snatch her 14lb ass up by the skin on the back of her neck walk over to the front door and throw her out.

Unfuckinbelievable!

Is the litter box the open style? If it is then try adding an enclosed litter box. this may help her feel safe. Both our cats like the enclosed box. Also I have heard that a picky cat may have better success having two litter boxes two choose from.

She has 2 litter boxes, one is in the corner and the other one is under the end table by the couch. Both are the open kind. When she is using the box, which is practically never, she prefers the one under the end table. She also doens't like to get litter on her feet, so I have to push the litter all to one side.

I bought an enclosed one, but its too small for her, it was the only one they sold at the place I bought it.

If she comes home... and u'r willing to let her back in... ;-)... my original question was the lid... think she might feel better in an enclosed area with lots of room... big uhaul box works well & place the bottom pan in it. You can also place a garbage bag under the box for an emergency liner, just not in it. GL bro

Dam, thats a good idea. I'll get a big box and put her litter pan in there and put a garbage bag around the box. She doesn't like walking on crinkly stuff, it actually wiggs her out when I come home with the grocery bags.

I'll do that and replace my litter with compost.

Oh, yeah, she was scratching at the door after about 15 minutes. When I finally let her back in, I opened the door and she rared back like she thought I was coming after her. When she saw I wasn't she walked inside.

I can't leave her out because if she gets into a fight she gets those infected spots that swell up and leak pepto bismol all over the place. One time she got in a fight and I noticed it swelling up so I took her to the vet. He said she is all good, nothing to worry about, sent me home. 2 weeks later, she's leaking pepto bismol (infected pustulate) from the swelling spot. Real genius of a vet there, never went back to him, not even to see the hot receptionist.

I have seen videos about that, it would be totally amazing for that to happen but my cat isn't attracted to cat litter, so how am I going to get her to hop up on to the toilet?

I'm having fundamental problems with my cat, I can't get her to do anything as it is, much less train her to use the toilet. She would probably just piss and shit on the toilet seat and I'd still be left cleaning up after her.

the cat is fixed. i agree feral cats can be bad altho i had like 20 guarding my greenhouses once. no more pest issues. if everyone had their cats fixed before letting em run loose we wouldnt have many feral cats.

Permanent outdoor cat. I have had a few that where never allowed in the house. We mad a cat door in the garage for the cold nights so he could go in there to sleep in his littel house. My last cat was just put down he had a stroke and could not stand. if he did get up he would run sidways. I had to put him down.

I like my indoor/outdoor cat relationship. He comes into eat/sleep/get rubbed on. He goes outside to shit/eat/sleep in the sun. Works for everyone, except the stray chipmunk.

Its weird, he just loves chipmunks. Mice, rabbits, birds, squirrels, he could care less. But let a chipmunk dare even glance at our yard, he's on it like stink on shit. :dunno:

Try letting her go out at her own pace. Just leave the door open. She'll explore and her instincts will kick in. As far as fights, they're rarely serious. Sounds like she just had an unlucky first round :D

Just leave the door open and sit on the porch, she'll get comfortable while your presence keeps the strays away. Then, when she comfortable going outside, she'll naturally start going outside if you let her out right after she eats.

She does have claws and doesn't have ovaries, right?
