I'm assuming if you shot it it would have not only a gps but a camera on it recording you and your location. lol. So that wouldn't work lol.. But if they have had this type of technology then why did it take them so long to get Osama Bin Laden again?? lol.. what a bunch of BS..This is seriously so sad... peace out Headband707

That's why they make GPS jammers!
Once you have your hands on that baby, slap the jammer on it and LEO is blind. Don't forget to wear your mask! Get your jammer @ DealExtreme. Now I need to find out where to find a harpoon & net! Anybody?........

I've got one of these:

AR.Drone-By-Parrot.jpg

It has 2 cameras; one forward-facing and one downward facing and is controlled by/records video directly to my fucking iPhone/iPad in real-time. If I have this, I can only imagine what "they" have.

Great for peeping Toms!
Or spying on Leo.
You could fly that over the police station/DEA headquarters to get pix of all the undercover guys, then post them on the net.
I like that toy.
What do they cost and what's their range?

I highly doubt they were "Predator" drones- those things cost several million bucks each and have a wingspan of 50 feet.

But flying cameras, I believe - they can do those pretty cheap...

yeah cheaper than manned planes or choppers, makes me wonder why they don't already use these extensively. I'm sure its coming. At least with one of those, you could say you were target shooting and didn't notice it until it was too late!

i swear if i see one of those anywhere near me im going to shoot it out of the sky, drone hunting season... you watch.

sick of this crap as if our privacy isnt invaded enough. although ive known about these for ages, im just saying do we really have to have our taxes spent on stupid crap like that for morons and people with power issues to be using..

its funny cause i talked to a cop recently and he was being the usual arrogant asshole thinking his shit has never stunk before. i asked him why do you feel the need to be above other people, his excuse was its just a uniform. im here to help. then i said then why does that uniform come equipped with many weapons, clearly just isnt a badge and uniform people are worried about.. his excuse was he needs to be protected, mine was well i dont see everyone person on this planet given at least one handgun to protect themselves like you.. the whole world is just as dangerous fom people who arent cops as well.. after that he just told me to shut it, i guess i stumped him there im not psychologist but i think people and its very noticeable with almost every cop have had some issue within their lifes thats forces them to feel like that want control over others, i truly believe this maybe as stupid as it sounds they were bullied as kids or had a dad that beat them, its always something and i just hate how every police officer practically acts like their lives was perfect and the only reason they decided to become a cop was to help people. somehow i just dont believe thats a huge majority of cops real reasoning behind it.

you always notice how the people with real morals and the real passion for truly helping others always end up quitting the force, simply because its too corrupt. the reason so many people really just dislike cops for literally no reason is simply because nearly 90% of them act like smug assholes.

its real hilarious to push cops buttons also it truly is, it comes out quick how severe their mental issues actually are with why they became police in the first place. i remember a cop yelling at me, THIS IS MY HOUSE!! then he looked around him and realized he just kinda made himself the stereotype asshole police officer with control and empowerment problems while all his officers were around, he literally corrected himself fast by yelling at me again, THIS IS OUR HOUSE!!!...

its really funny because housed inmates act just the same, they will scream and rant for control and power claiming everything they touch is THEIR HOUSE!!! ironic when you start connecting the way people truly think with that of a real criminal only to notice their behavior is exactly the same, so that should worry you about what those crops are doing when they dont wear their badge or have other cops to watch or report them for absurd behavior that shows it just not the criminals who are corrupt but the cops are just as bad if not worse because they pretty much have a free pass by the state to be assholes no matter what and no one can do a damn thing about it, why because they carry deadly weapons.

its funny how powerful they all act also, we all know its only because they carry a tazer and a gun they even have the balls to act the way the do. you know if those fools where on the street one to one with a real criminal their pansy asses would get beat to a lifeless pulp and they wouldnt be talking shit then i can almost gaurentee it. hell give anyone a gun then come spit in my face like your a hard ass, level the playing field then you can talk shit and act like a badass.

I got mine in a gift bag at an event but I think they're about $200. The range is decent but not crazy like anything military or LEO would have. They're a bit noisy so I'm not sure about being an effective peeping-tom tool.
I've modded mine with 2 TEENSY 720p cams and a higher capacity battery. You can google/youtube Parrot AR Drone.

$80 billion that's going to be spent over the next 5 years on expanding unmanned aircraft..

by 2016 they are hoping to have at least one drone on each coast running 24/7

they have a 66 ft. wingspan and fly 10-20,000+ miles high. Doubt anyone is going to be able to shoot it down.

big brotherism at its lowest.......

a pulse type R/C signal interrupter as mentioned above seems like the only viable counter measure for the local cop toys but those predator drones are untouchable by the masses.

Remember this from Star Trek?

But seriously the CIA has had these for awhile, a dragonfly drone, and even a catfish.

AYECARUMBA!!

Really? Does that skeeter really work? No way it could have a camera on it....

Yes, it works for what its meant to do, which is just fly. It has no camera or any goodies. Its a proof of concept of wing driven micro flight. They just need to figure out a small enough power source, last I saw. They did manage to utilize a beamed power supply recently though, so that shows promise.

The way I figure it, the military isn't going to show off the latest greatest toys to the public. So when they announce that they have a hummingbird size drone, I figure they really mean theres a mechanical wasp out there with a tactical nuke for a stinger :D

so what are we going to do to protect ourselves? That is the point everyone misses with my anti-surveillance thread. This is my point, that we should band together, online if not in person, to come up with defenses against these surveillance technologies.

I already gave you one. Against a technologically advanced foe, your most effective defense is to attack the technology - E-WAR. In proper terms, you use Electronic Warfare (EWAR) against an Electronic Intellgence (ELINT) asset.

The first counter to radar wasnt hiding from it (stealth), it was to overwhelm it with jamming. The plane's blip was still on the screen, but so were 300 other blips that look the same. The technology was used against itself.

Here, the weak point is the control signal. Therefore you use your own control system to broadcast an overriding signal. In unprotected electronics it will allow you subsume control completely within your transmitter range. In basically protected electronics, you'll simply interfere with communications, which will result in an auto-return in higher-end models, and a user-return in less expensive models. There is not a garden on this earth thats makes risking the loss of a drone, even a cheap one, worthwhile.

Giant poppyfield beloning to some Taliban high-poobah in Afghanistan, maybe. Local PD, even in the megatropolises, looking for a pot garden, no.

Simple fact is that if you've got your shit in order, a random drone sweep means fuck-all. A tasked drone op means you fucked up long ago in the process, and you're probably fucked like a freshman at a frat party no matter what.

i wonder what the vertical height of your property actually is? like legally i mean. their could be an argument made for personal privacy within your own "personal airspace" so to speak
