Mollases in Australia???

I hear of all the US growers using this stuff during flower to load the plant with carbs. Do we have this stuff at Coles or Woolies? I've looked but haven't found anything. Anyone know where to buy this stuff here?

Try a health food store or home brew store. If your in the country go to the local agricultural supplier. Molasses is often used as a supplement in the diet of cattle.

You can use sugar as well, one tablespoon/four liters.
Put the sugar in a pan with a little water and heat for a minute.

You can buy Mollasses at coles .. just look where all the health food stuff is ..

you want unsulphered ... I saw it at coles for $3.50 for a big jar ..

And yes I use it every watering during flowering at a rate of 5ml's per litre of water ... add to water in bottle put on lid and shake until it dissolves then give to plant .. This is for soil grows only not hydro !!!

It feeds the micro organisms and makes more nutirents available to the roots etc

you get bigger stickier buds ...I highly recommend it ... :)

would it be suitable for say, coco? or any other non soil media? I'm using growool and expanded clay/hydrotron on half my plants and a mix of vermiculite, perlite and coco on the others. I really like the Per/ver/coco mix, hold more water than per/ver mixed together but doesn't cause any root rot or such. I think I've got a really good mix % going. Used the mix on several grows and it's always produced quality plants without having to constantly water. I'm really happy I accidentally poured coco into a garbage bin of washed perlite and had no choice but to work with what I had and so mixed in the vermiculite that was being washed out. I think it may support live organisms to a certain degree as I used some root growing spore product a freind gave me the bottom of the bottle of and the roots really took of in the one's I used it in.

For me, that's ^ a really good result as I usually get slight browning of my roots to some degree but this time all clear. I was pleasantly surprised.

Mollasses is organic so if your using organic based nutrients then yes you can use for coco ..

if your using proper hydro chems then it can cause fungus/mould and other problems..

Another option is 3/4 way into flowering is to flush the coco with water only for a week or so to flush all the hydro nute and salts away and then start pumping the plants up with mollases and water only ...

mollasses also has nutrients in it so just giving it on it's own with water will feed the plants ..

I 've noticed hydro growers dilute at one TABLEspoon per TWENTY LITRES and flush immediately afterwards to negate the acid spike caused by M.
opinion I 've read is that M has insufficient P to use as a sole flowering fertilizer. NPK was 8 - 2 - 5 I think.

Rougly 50 ml per ten litres of water(one regular bucket or watering can) is what I add to my mix when I add Go Go juice and Powerfeed. Stir with a stick for about 30 seconds to aerate then leave sit for a few minutes in a warm place to let the bacteria start working. Tha molasses feeds the beneficial bacteria in the brew and makes them active to do their good thing in the soil, as well as providing vitamins and minerals required for plant growth.
IMO it is a great, cheap way of feedin your plants in the flowering stage. My mix smells, curiously, very similar to some of the expensive ones I used to buy.......

ninja bud

I have used molasses for the first time on my last grow. I used about 2mls per litre, pretty much the same ratio as the Bio Grow nutes I used. It really does work and brings a nice sweet taste to the buds.

I think I'll stick with the dr's orders... 3/4 of the way into flower load them up with the stuff and then flush as usual... I do run hydro nutes so I figure if I'm going to give it a try I'll not mix in things I have no experience with and hope. If I'm not running the hydro nutes and stick to the M before the usual flush I can only imagine the bud would taste a lot cleaner as it'll be on a natural diet for longer than usual. I am willing to sacrifice yield for taste/quality anyday and even though I run hydro nutes I never use those really ridiculous bud boosters that are full of PGR's and shit like that, just PK13/14 and even that's pushing it for me. Thanks for all the awesome information people, I have seen others using it left right and centre but couldn't ever find it in Coles??? mustn't have been looking hard enough. Again, my thanks to everyone and good growing. Reminds me, September is almost here... might try using the stuff on my outdoor

Horticultural
Soil
• Molasses can be added to the soil of almost any plant to promote microbial activity.[7]
Hydroponic
• Molasses contains the disaccharide sucrose. This sugar does NOT substitute as a flowering enhancer in hydroponic gardening. Sucrose cannot be transferred through a plant's cell membrane and therefore can not be used by the plant for cellular production. Other substitute "sugar boosters" for hydroponics contain deoxyribose, lyxose, ribose, xylulose, and xylose. These simple and complex carbohydrates are the main components of cellular reproduction, and deliver an immediately usable form of energy to the plant, which would normally rely on a soil-type organic medium for beneficial microbial activity.[8][9]

Just found this in Wikipedia.
Good for feeding the bugs in the soil.
No good for hydro it seems?

All this talk about molasses and other additives. Why not just stick with a basic fertiliser available everywhere....Nitrosol. Same with hydro which I am more familiar with....standard 2 pack nutes...no big bud this, big bud that.

Don't love your plants to death....they can only take so much.
