I'm not a big football fan so I'm not a Vick fan by circumstance. I hate what he did to his dogs but he was punished for his crimes. I wouldn't even attempt to persuade otherwise those who wish Vick ill. Their personal opinions belong to them, not me.

But I remember Vick learning pro-football the hard way... on the job. He didn't have the benefit of a pro-style offense in college, he just outran everybody. Just when he was coming into the idea that the pocket is his friend, the dog stuff happened.

Watching this kid run around with 11 adult men chasing after him was lots of fun. The dog fighting kind of ruined it.

So wrong. First, there is evidence that gorillas do consume meat, other monkeys infact. They also eat insects which are meat. I guess that means vegans should start eating ants. Second, chimpanzees, which are actually our closest ancestors, do eat meat and lots of it. Mostly other monkeys, but other mammals too.

i read it as

I think Vick is an awesome player...never doubted that. And what's fucked up is his kiddie-diddler brother Marcus is even BETTER. Mike Vick will take a team to the super bowl someday...an win.

Pit bulls are a wonderful breed and there is nothing wrong with black people either. Using Vick's culture as an excuse is just bullshit. My pit mix, bred for bait and unsocialized until late adolescence, is a great dog with kids, mostly black ones in my hood. In fact my block is great for rehabbing dogs that have a problem with dark skin.

If I were arrested in the incident Vick was arrested in, I would get 6 months probation... for my first offense (2 years probation if it was a continuous offense). CASE CLOSED. We should prosecute judges who PUNISH certain individuals unique to others in the same category... Lindsay Lohan would have gotten a couple years in jail, if she was black... just saying.

I work with people whose dogs "have it in them". the dog's behavior, barring any kind of medical issue, comes from the owner. always. you sir, are as full of shit as the scared owner that needs to learn how to control the animal. Luckily when I meet them, they are asking for help and if i'm lucky, ready to listen. Dogs are better at reading people than people are at reading people, and they are also better at reading people than they are other dogs. Their actions and habits are a response to the stimulus they get from humans. The specie is Canis lupus familiaris and it has evolved to read you.

Dogs by nature are not built to fight each other and a real fight is most definitely a rare occurrence in a wolf pack. Generally the omega initiates play whenever tension needs to be dispelled this only makes sense considering that the pack is together to survive.

cockfighting is unfortunately legal in 2 states. if you want to start a thread about that and defend it, I'll dig up some pics for you.

Human on human combat is between two adults capable of choosing to do it or not.

Bullfighting could be considered ethical if it was a fair contest, no picadors or other cheating to soften up the bull, and of course the meat is eaten.

I have no problem with other cultures eating dog, so long as they slaughter humanely and keep them in humane conditions. After all, I eat cow, which is sacred to hindus.


Oh, and I hope you don't get caught in a random traffic stop and have your assets seized and family broken up.
