Critique on vert set up please

I'll keep it short n' to the point. What I'm looking to hear is opinions on the actual growing space. Fan, filters, pumps,...all that shit I'm good on.

With 4" PVC in place, not installed....


Ok the spec's;

-top of bottom row to top of box is 44" of usable space.
-across I've 54" of usable space.
-I'll be stacking two 600w

I had some left over pieces so I drilled out a few holes just to have something to look at while I drank beer and starting assembling this damn thing.

I'll be running an unknown sativa, single cola style.

Should I just run three tiers instead of four?
Three 2" netpots per 20" length or four?

Looking forward to getting your feedback folks, got everything I need to finish this. Just wanna hear some opinions before I do.

I've 200 clones most are showing roots. This set up can hold 112.
Good question. The 200 clones I've got are indica n' not really what I want to run in this set up. My sativa mom could be ready to cut in as little as two weeks.

With the 2" nets and the spacing I see I would run the Indicas with 12-12 immediately. They wont take as long to run and you would get a feel for your system before you run the big girls. Just me.

Will you be staggering the holes so that they are not stacked directly on top of one another? What's the distance between levels? Doesn't look like much. If the holes all align you're going to have plants competing with each other and growing into each other. I'd stagger them on all 3 or 4 levels:

Looks like a very clean design. I actually considered doing something like this at first, I'll be interested to see how it progresses.

Well I'm not hurting for PVC Anti. Staggered is fine if I'm going to run indica. Being a SOG guy you know that staggering is bullshit. SOG is what it is. I'd hate to stagger single cola plants as its a waste of space. But if I run these clones I'll definately stagger.

Distance between levels is 7" at the moment. I'm looking for input before thats final.

I'm giving points for the construction alone. Looks pretty nice as a skeleton even. I really like the way these setups make the most of the available light. I've just ordered and should be receiving today my new GrowLabHomeBox 1.2mx1.2m and I am thinking of building a semi-vert hydro system using PVC pipes to make use of the light which would otherwise be hitting the walls and achieving nothing. It will basically be 6 pipes wide but fairly closely spaced and then after the flat 6 another 3 will be on either side slowly moving upwards until it looks like a miny stadium with only half seating so to speak. Just want to get more out of the room I'll have aswell as the light which won't be alot for 1.2x1.2, only a 357 LED in the middle flanked by a pair of 250W MHs or Hortilux EYE lamps which will perform better than HPS lighting. A pair of reservoirs can sit underneath acting as a base and I'll have each side serviced by it's own res. So 6 pipes on each side approx a metre in length with 5 pantsites per pipe. Use my current ent to keep mothers and run the thing perpetual, flowering the clones after 2 weeks of veg and train or wire them so I don't have overcrwding probs. Even with such piss-poor lighting I'd pull a bow off a system like that a reckon perhaps more depending on the strain. I never was good at woodwork so 5th, my hats off to you for building that from the ground up, very nicely done. I never considered setups like these in the past only because of lack of abilty and I was shit scared I wouldn't be able to handle one. In everyway (apart from plant count if busted) they make more sense. less veg, smaller plants and better light distribution/use which means more bud and you would easily fit an extra cycle in each year which means more bud.

I'm not suggesting a massive amount of "staggering" I'm just saying, if you've already got a space between the pots, why not stagger that space (without losing out on plant-sites) so that as they grow up, they fill the space rather than blocking light that would otherwise hit the row above? I'm sure it'll work either way... I'm just tossing out an idea.

Thanks kindly Mountain, making me blush over here. That being said I'm the last guy that should be handling power tools n' wood. Too much math n' whatnot. I'm currently doing something similar to what your going to be getting. 5ft. worth of pipe, 5 plants per pipe, 2 pipes side by each. Gonna put the screen on ina week.

Opinions are exactly what I'm looking for Anti, and hearing yours always gets ma mind racing. I'm torn really. If I only do three tiers I should be fine for space...but since I don't give a tinkers fuck about plant numbers...I dunno. This blows...gotta make some decisions n' fire this thing up...
