Free downloadable auto-cad program?

Can anyone recommend one that is easy to use, last time I used a cad program was years ago and i just need a basic program that any idiot can use.

Check out Google's Sketchup. It's a free 3d modeling program. It has a bit of a learning curve but not too bad.

Can you design a screw like you would have in some extruding machines with sketchup?

Hmmmmm, sketchup might be a little too low tech for that type of application especially if there are small tolerances involved but I think it would work for illustrative purposes.

SketchUp all the way. Awesome program. I have used it sense the first version came out. Great for beginners or seasoned architects alike. Can draw anything you can think of.
