I bet it did save your ass Strainhunter ! That's a pretty big hit to take my friend. Oh, by the way, you asked about the NL5. It's from Ghetto Land Genetics not Blazing Pistileros. Peace Game

Don't know if you already have this taken care of but if you're by yourself you might want to look in to options how to get a those lb's trimmed just by yourself when it gets to that point. ;)

Music to my ears Strainhunter, this is a problem I look forward to having ! I do my own thing, but have an immediate family member to help me out with such things. Next year I will purchase one of those newfangled trimming machines because I plan to take things to whole new level.

Blow it up Game!!!! :)

Nice and healthy looking schrubs :) Great launching pads for missles of resin!!!

So true about spreading the eggs out. I lost 3 nice females to a brush cleaning crew :( It happens, but another plot is still kicking it nicely.

Thanks for keeping your thread updated and current. Fun to read. Hope you finish with some mega big ladies :)

I'm definitely trying to blow it up Bacchus, I do what I can. I haven't lost any this year to human activity, so I'm thankful for that. A few here and there at the beginning to animals digging them up. Been lucky. Glad to here things are still growing well for you (minus a few) this season. Good times coming soon my friend !

I am done with my harvest.
Approx 10lbs in 21 hours with one helper. Very easy to trim though.

Since your grow reminds me of what I used to do...it crossed my mind while we were trimming. ;)
I so need a mechanical trimmer!

Damn, that's some fast work though. Must have abstained from smoking while working, lol. Not much trimming ? High bud to leaf ratio ? Yeah, I have yet to price them out or figure out which ones are worthwhile. I know they get spendy though. I gotta work fast when I do since my old lady doesn't know anything about me growing. How's that for stealth, hahaha.

Although correct the thing about them being spendy is this, and again I am not talking from my @$$ but from my own experience:

During my outdoor days I had to trim vast (!) amounts of bud within a weeks time, kind like you will be facing a little bit in a few weeks from now. I grew mostly one or two strains and they all finished withing a close time frame.
Leaving them out there for too long and Botrytis would have set in (like it did one year and as previously stated I lost it all).

As you already know now it's indoor only for me because of where I live.
Check out the below trimmer video, that's what I'll get. $1,600 bucks.

Oh and not telling your "missus"...smart move!

Can't wait to hear about what you pull down. I'm doing 15 NL #5 indoors, I only wish they could get as big and nice looking as yours. Gotta keep 'em short and fat instead, ha ha. Good luck on bringing down a monster crop.

Strainhunter- I love it, very slick machine. Not a bad price altogether for what it does. I see it has a nice container where your leaf and trichomes will fall into. Those go straight into the bubble bags !

Lawladash- Yeah, can't go wrong with Northern lights. An all-time favorite of mine. Thanks, I'll be sure to keep updating and let everyone know when harvest time comes.

I got caught with my pants down boys. I went out today and found that I'm facing some pretty serious leaf spot disease. It came on like Tyson too. Last week I noticed a few leafs on a few plants with it and I pulled them. So I wasn't able to make it out for a while and today found that it had intensified in a real hurry. A handfull of my plants are into flowering and should be good until harvest. Others are large enough that it won't hurt much of anything. Others will be screwed if I can't arrest the spore development.
Still waiting on my Liquid Copper to get here so it looks like I will have to whip up a homemade remedy to try and counteract this ASAP. Between this and the drought that dried up my water source, times are hard indeedy. Headed back out now.......

Game, I have been meaning to post in the leaf spot sticky for a couple days now but haven't got around to it. I don't know if I would put my faith in liquid copper. For me the copper has proven unworthy. I have been on time and on target with my applications since early summer but just recently an explosion of leaf spot has overwhelmed my efforts. This is the same time last year that it erupted everywhere and it seems worse this year. The only thing I have going for me is that my plants are autos and are almost done. If I had long season girls and needed at least 2 more months I would step up to systemic fungicides. I know that one of the prime contributors to the leaf spot debate has also abandoned copper and was going on a quest to find a suitable fungicide. I don't know if he has found one but you can check in with him and see. Leaf spot moves fast. You don't have much time. Use the copper when you get it by all means, but immediately begin to look for an alternative. Good luck.

ronbo, yeah, I hear you. I'm believe I know who you are speaking of. The only difference between where I'm located and where he is, is that he is having non-stop rain and high temps = high humidity which dramatically speeds up the process by which is spreads. I have actually noticed it for a few weeks and it was single solitary leafs, no spread whatsoever. This is due to us being in a borderline drought I believe. We had a short rainfall and this is when I noticed the leaf spot kick into gear. Luckily there's no rain in the forecast for the near future and the temps have been balmy in the 70's, so I have a good chance at licking it. Just got my hands on some LC actually. Before I got it, I found a homemade recipe that is supposed to help. Combining small amounts of baking soda, minced garlic, and Hydrogen Peroxide. All have anti-fungal properties and are reputed to help. I applied that with a sprayer. I will be out tomorrow spraying the LC, so We'll see where this goes. Peace Game

That's what I had when I used to live
(& grow) in FL.

Like I posted before one year I lost it all...and it was more than many ppl grow in their entire life.
I had a mentor regarding the mold, a commercial & very experienced citrus grower sharing my profession as well..

There were only two options: Scissors & copper spray.
(no other chems would work)

Copper spray was very questionable due to its toxicity and scissors did not work due to the spores already being everywhere on the plant.
When I cut off one piece BAM the next day shit was back right below the cut off part and elsewhere.
And I am speaking 5 foot long 6" thick colas here.

Dunno what else to tell you buddy...

Mold sucks balls.

Strainhunter, I believe you are talking about gray mold that ruins the actual buds then. This is leaf spot. If your plants were already nearly finished budding, then leaf spot wouldn't make much of a difference, you still could have harvested just fine. Gray mold on the other hand........

Yes I was talking about Botrytis.

Plants were about 3/4 way.

I kinda "ignored" yours having leaf spots, all I was reading was *mold* lol and mold is bringing back bad memories.

The leaf spot stuff though
(which I have experienced as well) I never had showing on landraces, only on certain hybrids.
The thing was if and when the plants had leaf spots...they eventually developed budrot as well. Not all but many.

Dunno what else to tell you, maybe leaf spots "weaken" the plants immune system and it becomes susceptible to other diseases as well!?
Maybe leaf spots are just a sign for a deficiency allowing the plant to contract diseases?

One thing I know for sure though: what ever the reason is for leaf spots appearing...they are hard to get rid of.

You got that right my friend. Luckily, we're as dry as a tinderbox right now and this is keeping it in check (it does mean that I'm hauling water like a madman though). I have applied Liquid Copper this morning and have some other strong Fungicides on the way. Ready to beat this thing down. But yeah, I do believe you are correct, left alone, it will likely lead to botrytis and a general weakening of the plant in general. Lots of leaf spot disease dis-easing many outdoor growers on IcMag right now, not good.........
