What's new

light bleach or lockout?

hi guys, this is week 4 of my plants... growing in bagged soil (similar to foxfarm, sunshine mix, promix etc). pH has been 6.0 as recommended by my nute manufacturer CANNA. I am using their TERRA range. EC is 1.4 - 1.6 when I feed and I do a weekly flush of 0.5 EC.

I left my plants with my mate to take care of as I'm away for a little while. He sent me a pic and this is what it looks like. Is this from the plants being too close to the light or something else?

Any ideas?

It would be better if we could see, or hear about the lights. HID? 250?1000? LED? How close are they? How long you been away?

Pics would be good/better.

screwy pics with the black lines, looks like your taking a pic threw a window .
A ph of 6 is low for soil thats a hydro ph # to aim for .I think soil you want a 6.8 or so .I grow hydro so dont "" me on that . so i would check on that then go with poopys recomendation

you are burning the shit out of them with fertilizer. while i see mag defic/ lockout (white streaks from the inside out..) its because your plant stopped uptaking food altogether. your whole root zone may be fried as a result. when in doubt, flush it out. if not dry, do not apply. Do you currently use a CALMG product? if not, I would. flush with 0EC water @ 6.0. calibrate your meters. peas,

digital ballasts don't flicker nearly slow enough to see it in a digi camera lense.. I'm willing to bet a bottle of rock supercharger vs. $65 that is a magnetic ballast taken from a cellphone...

So turn the lights out and take a picture with a camera with a flash. At least we'll get true colors without the lines.

then post.

Seems like only the top leaves are affected. The ones below look fine from what I can see, so it could be bleaching from lights being too close, however we need better photos. Are only the top leaves affected?

Yep,he's got a few things going on.Looks like somebody thought they weren't 'responding' to the nute regimen and went straight to more is better.

The answer has got to start with correcting pH and STOP feeding them.

Some other details would help...GL third-party diagnosing from long distance.

ya this, 400w digi doesn't do it, but the 1k mag's do. The DSLR doesn't seem to be affected, but cell cams and our pocket cam are.

A decent pic would make a big dif in figuring out what's wrong. My guess is the lights.
You will not see a mag def as someone said, showing on your top leaves. Need a better pic.
