Digilux or Hi-Lux?

So I want some new bulbs for my digital 600's. Wondering which bulb everyone prefers? I did some searching, and some Digilux users complain of the bulbs running hot and yellowing plants? But others do not. I cannot find much on the Hi-Lux bulbs, but what I did find was positive. I found them for the same price, so which one is superior and why? Thanks for your advice!!!!!

Hilux or Solarmax or the win. Both the Hilux super hps and their MH daylight conversions are bad ass lamps.. Reviews from a friend who is flowering with all 1k Hilux MH Conversions states that his quality and yield are superior then when he was running straight HPS.

Another friend runs 1K vertical HPS with 1 600w Hilux MH in the center and his spectrum and look of his room look amazing..

I've heard the digilux are crapola...

I bought 2 Hilux bulbs, and a couple of my plants love it....but a couple do not. How far are you keeping the light away? My plants have been flowering for 4-5 weeks, done stretching and looked perfect. My tallest plant is 19" away from the air cooled hood, and that and a few others fan leaves are fading from too much light. The lights are as high as they can go...so now I have to put my old bulb back in atleast 1 of the lights. I know it is too intense for some of the plants, a few plants are doing really well. I will have to keep my plants shorter if I want to use these bulbs. I have been doing this a really long time, and have used many bulbs....and had the plants much closer to the light. It actually going to effect my yield, in a bad way. I know it is a good bulb, a few of my plants are really bulking up....more than usual. But for now, I have put an old bulb back in to see if it helps.

slowandeasy,

could the fading directly under the new lamps be contributed to those plants in the intense zone feeding a little heavier then the ones around the edges? My perimeter plants always seem to look a bit nicer in color with my centers doing similar to what you describe. Maybe they are a little hungrier with all that fresh light?

I get similar lightness directly under my lamps (all brands w/ concentrated Daystar AC hoods) and just figured those plants in the sweet spot were craving a little more food...

They are not hungry, they have light bleaching. I positive it is the new bulb being more intense. I have been using the same set up for a long time, and new bulbs are my only switch. Some strains can take more intense light than others, so I will just try to find the right distance for these bulbs. My Sour Bubble loves it, and is bulking up really nice....but my OG is taller and is fading. For now I moved the OG to the corner and got it out of the most intense light and put a much smaller plant in its place. We shall see what happens.

These bulbs are making my plants yellow extremely fast while flushing, and some plants are showing signs of light bleaching/fading. They also increased my temps a lot. I need to figure out what to do. On a positive note, the plants are extra frosty this round...but I do not like the leaf fading going on so quickly.

I have 1 digital ballast and 1 Magnetic. I have heard that Ushio bulbs do not perform as well in a Mag ballast? Some claim the Hortilux is better...either way I have to change something,
