Decided to pop a couple of PureKushX??.. I got out of some stellar bags throughout May/June 2010. I've harvested before but in very point/click grows where I was basically just watering in FFOF. This time I've got more freedom and am attempting to apply some knowledge I've attained since my last run(mostly found stumbling around this wonderful community).
This season(End of April) I started two seeds from separate batches in small pots of Happy Frog. I failed topping them and fimmed them, but the fim structure is just as enjoyable to watch develop. During this time I top dressed with FF Happy Frog Veg Food once. When It was time to transplant I bought two 20gal smartpots, two bags of FFOF, a bag of Black Gold, and Perlite. With the girls in their final homes, I have continued top dressing. I also constructed a brewing can. I heard bubbling my water would kill chlorine, so I brew in advance. Is this true? I make tea with biodynamic thunder and molasses. I'd love some tips on tea. I've also lightly dosed them with AN Piranha a couple times for root development. Been doing some intense training to keep my canopy flat. I'm not sure how long to train them. I'd like to see some kolas from my tops, but I want to keep them low so they don't stretch and become a security issue in flower. Here's some pics.
Pheno1 from May2010 bag
This girl has been a bigger, faster grower from day 1, but the secondary sites on the trained branches have actually been much less vigorous than those on Pheno2
Pheno2 from June 2011 bag
She has been sturdy and compact with smaller, rigid fans. I love the structure of this plant, despite it being the slower grower. As said before, the secondary chutes on this girl are remarkably more vigorous than those on Pheno1.
And another shot of Pheno1 for fun.
Sorry for the lack of resolution. These were taken on my webcam haha.
I want some advice on how to keep this simple but achieve the grade A results that these beans came from. I want sugary, hard nugs and as I stated, this is my first feeding intensive attempt.
Any advice regarding food, feeding schedule, tea regimens, maximizing the effectiveness of molasses, the truth regarding bubbling water to neutralize chlorine/chloramine would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I feel that I probably should have included lime in my soil mix and I wonder if there is any good way to apply it through feeding or if it needed to be an amendment from the start.
Let me know what you think.
Happy Gardening.
