What's new

Chickity Doo Doo

NPK - 5-3-2

This stuff makes AWESOME tea! After brewing you end up with a product VERY close to Aquashield, but it will actually contain some nutrition as well! Extremely cost effective when used to make ACT Tea's. Has 5% Nitrogen and 9% calcium among other goodies and is OMRI certified.

I would imagine this product would make a very good additive to any soil mix as well.

mmmmmmmmmm arsenic !

One of the big additives from phizer or some other shady massive corporations main ingredient -arsenic ! Used to kill off parasites . Legal for use in your food animals . Supposed to pass through the chicken and not stay in the meat . Guess what , some stays in the meat ! WOnder where all the rest goes ?

U.S. chicken producers use a total of 2.2 million pounds of roxarsone each year. About 70 percent of the 9 billion fryer chickens grown annually nationwide eat feed containing the additive, which also is used in turkey and pig feed.
More than 95 percent of the roxarsone fed to chickens is excreted unchanged in chicken waste, which is regularly applied as fertilizer on surrounding farm fields or used in commercial fertilizers. The arsenic from those applications could leach into surface and ground water supplies.

How can something be OMRI certified organic and contain Arsenic? If that is actually accurate, then WTF is a OMRI certification useful for? Kinda defeats the purpose? This stuff has been treated and sterilized so I am not sure it would contain anything harmful. We have not run any chemical test yet on this product but defiantly plan to. Thanks for the heads-up.

I did some research and this is what i came up with, this is there answer via e-mail. I think i will add it in my super soil, or tea, I,ve used aquashield and loved it, hopefully it will improve it, for twelve dollars for a gallon size container, can't go wrong.

I'll answer your questions as best/quickly as I can.

Yes, arsenic has been feed to chickens from the broiler industry. The arsenic was used to help disease control and for growth stimulation. Because of the concern with arsenic, in 2009 it was banned for use in the broiler industry.

As you move to the other chicken operations (egg layers) arsenic hasn't ever been used in their feed. There is no need for this product in an egg operation.

Chickity Doo Doo is 100% from composted manure from egg operations. So our birds haven't been feed arsenic. So depending on the source of the manure this potentially can be an issue.

Just so you are a well informed store owner, it should be noted that arsenic is a naturally occurring chemical element. Arsenic is found in very small traces in all animal manure (and water for that matter). So technically all manure based fertilizers have some arsenic, however it is measured in parts per million.

Chickity Doo Doo is a OMRI listed organic product that works on all plants. I consider manure to be the first and still the best organic fertilizer. Good luck.

How exactly did you put together this sentence?
Was Chickity DooDoo and the arsenic level mentioned on the same page?[/B]
Found a number of products that had the sentence : "The arsenic level of this product exceeds 10ppm" written right after them, but Chickity doo doo is clean according to this list:

Google .
OMRI means there isn't any arsenic in it?

Good research Loyalty . You ask if egg layers are fed anti-biotics or any hormones though ? Sure arsenic is naturally found , but doesn't mean you wanna ingest extra!

Also I couldn't find anything that says it's use was banned in 2009. Here's a recent article showing it's still in use at least in meat chickens -

Some good info on using caution and questioning sources of manure . ALso good info in the sideline about phosphates sourced from Rock phosphate

Im no expert. I just always question the info, that someone making $$$$ of me shares :)
