Budget cuts and weed

Do you believe that the budget cuts will lead to a more lax approach of pot laws? Do you think it will be legalized for revenue's sake in some states?

Just curious as to how this situation will affect our favorite herb.

It worked for the prohibition of alcohol during the great depression.

At the bare minimum I'd like to see budget cuts to police departments so they are forced to focus on real crimes.

Real crimes don't net the revenues like busting growers. Austerity breeds a certain stripe of lawmaker that history shows isn't too friendly towards mj.

I think it will depend on the city, if they have other real crimes to deal with than cannabis related stuff will be left alone or channeled through drug court to extract as much money as possible. If the city has no other real crimes, I don't see it being any different, except maybe they might offer high fines instead of jail time.

With such chaos & a glooming economy, I think it could swing in any direction at this point. That doesn't mean I would hold my breath, in hopes of any compassion from big brother. Let's see the facts at hand for the moment, those who hold the power in this country are tightening the noose around everyone's neck, and bleeding us all dry for more money & power, along with wars being fought. If incarcerating more & more people for lesser crimes serves their purpose, then this country is flat out doomed.

The only issue for them is how they gonna get their hands in the action...

It's sad but it really feels like anytime the govt throws us a bone, it's only because they can profit more than we can.

Well, I have long held a somewhat twisted desire for something cataclysmic to happen in the economy, and it looks like I'm going to get my "wish". I mean, I don't wish for bad things to happen, but, I think it will take an extreme event to push us over the finish line...either that or wait around another 20 years.

CAMP winding down because there is no profit in cutting down outdoor grows... no property to seize, no business, no assets. Just a bunch of expenses, lots of fuel for helis, etc.

Instead now they will refocus on domestic interstate transport syndicates that will balloon as the outdoor supply goes nuts...

And then LEO can seize and auction car$, home$, boat$, propertie$, bu$ine$$e$, jewelrie$, a$$et$...
