For us to help, first u gotta ask some questions m8, which we can answer to...
As for me, i dont really see the big deal with building an octagon flooded tube system, as it all comes down to measuring up ur room, and just building the system in.

So...

How big is ur grow area?
What size res have u planned on using?
Diameter of the tubes u wish to use?
How many rows (height) do u plan on growing?
What about lights, 2 lights, 3 lights, and is it 1000w pr bulb, 600 or something totally different?

Give us something first in order for us to help u get started :)

Good luck on your undertaking. What are your specific questions? What is your room size? Lights? Ambient temps/humidity? The flooded tube system is a relatively complicated build with the advantage of short veg time. If veg time is not a big issue for you then I would suggest the "weed doughnut" that a number of members have rocked here. It takes advantage of vert lighting with minimal setup.

BD;

Ok well we are not going to be able to build it for you, BUT all the information you need (believe me I know this) is here in these threads. I spent 3 months reading before I killed my horizontal grow and started building my verticle Stadium, now I made a TON of mistakes and some cost me dearly, so read my thread and read Laylow's (It's stickied at the top of the vertical section) read Bobbleheads but be warned he is on the cutting edge of vertical growing not really for newbs, a MUST READ for you is Aerohead's weed doughnut, you could probably do 2 of them side by side I think in your space IF you make sure the following happens;

1) You must exchange the air in your flower room 2 times every minute, have control over your RH (humidity) run a little higher humidity during stretch like 60-70% then back it down to 40-50% during flower, control your heat and temperature, it is MUCh harder to do than you might realize, I still struggle with this but got my temps to run within about a 7-10 degree range and I live in a VERY moderate coastal climate, if you live in hell (deep south) this could be a REAL problem but others here have handle it.

2) Strain choice is important, mono-cropping is suggested (although I have yet to do it myself) for maximum cash cropping, some choices some prefer such as Diesel Don Marlo (another thread you should check out) Diesels seen to offer good stretching, sativa's hybrid that like to stretch like Blue Dream, I like a strain tha is popular here called Tangerine Haze, so Haze's might be good, but even Indica or Indica/Sativa hybrids can be used, although most of us want long stretchy branching to take advantage of the lumen penetration of vertical gardening offers.

3) Most of us do NOT run C02, just a waste of money IMHO, if you have good environmental control and are exchanging air with fresh outside air you should have PLENTY of Co2 for the plants avaiable to them.

4) Your choice if media's are endless, I prefer CoCo it offers the best of both worlds for my growing style, I get some of the speed of hydro with the taste and quality of soil. And with the help of MANY of my friends here; DHF, Bobblehead, Laylow and many others a lot of us run CoCo so their is a wealth of help available their.

I could go on with different watering solutions, Blumats vs drip , ebb and flow, DWC etc.....but it really is dictated by what type of vertical run you do.

I suggest for a 4-5 day period devote yourself as much as you can to read the stickies, check out the threads I mentions and others as well, go to your grow area and see what YOU think will work best for YOU!, No one will tell you what to do, but we stand ready to answer your questions, idea's we will review and comment on, and try to help you avoid MANY of the problems we have already suffered through.

Also my last "suggestion" please make sure you read the thread "Thinkin bout goin vert? Here's what you might need" by Diesel Don Marlo....I would invite you to start their.

Good luck my friend we stand ready to help you.

I second the vote for multiple side by side doughnuts, as many as you can fit while still leaving space for vegging.

Dave,
I built mine using 3" SDR pipe to fit inside of a 5x5 growlab, It ended up having a 48" OD which was perfect. I can tell you that I accomplished this with each pipe at a length of 19", now you have the numbers you can use as a template, just make neccessary adjustments based on how big you want it. I personally would do two separate rings in your space so you can have a perpetual harvest every month.
