to me it seems calling our public servants the authorities is a bastardization of the language. how the fuck can our public servants, i.e. policemen, politicians people paid with the peoples money, have authority over those giving them their jobs and pay? in actual fact we are all equal. the so called authorities have no power over you as long as you have not committed any crime. real crime with a victim. all the other rules are basically enforced through fraudulently and sneakily gaining our consent or tricking us to consent freely imo.

I have never, I repeat ever, been a bitch in the end...

I have my price, but oddly it isn't money - been there, bathed in it, walked away. I'm not power hungry, either - I am a firm but fair boss and father. Fuck me over??? Watch your back for the rest of your life, because one day I will pay you back. "Do unto others / what goes around comes around" are tattooed on my every day.

Freedom isn't given by governments - it's gifted by the blood of men and women who died in order for those rights to be "unalienable". Watching members of this site slowly giving up their basic human rights to their political masters makes me angry - when did things go so wrong, mighta been when you were young and strong...

Say No, ask questions, insist on humane treatment, be civil, demand civility, don't patronize rude or disrespectful, lead by example and expect the same from others. Hold the door for others, say "Your welcome" to those that don't say thanks. Wait your turn, but expect results once you get there. Make election promises legally binding, sentences doubled for bad leo/judges and eliminated for soft drugs. Corporate citizenship ends, and every board member has a 100% chance of losing their money if a company goes under.

Rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble, rabble...

depends on the authority figure...

lets say, i have had teachers that were great, and doing as they told me payed off.

sometimes you do need someone with their heart in the right place to teach you a measure of discipline.

but most authority figures in my life have had their hearts in the wrong place, so it is always a problem as they end up getting told to fuck off, that is it.

but when you do run into someone who has something of value to teach you, and in order to learn that you need to submit to their authority, within the boundaries of reason and respect of course.

When I heard those same thoughts expressed by my law and order father I started to realise that things truly had Changed. Not just me.

independant thinking people are always attacked by idiots with power,, i think of them as the cowardly lions,, they shout at you for not appreciating their authority but instantly cower when someone above them shouts at them,, its pathetic,,,

It depends...as long as they do not abuse their Authority, I can deal with it--
Like if a cop pulls me over, and I had a tail light out...if he gives me a ticket, I will respect that authority, sign the ticket...and pay it--
But if he pulls me over for a burned out tail light...and has me on the ground, gun out and starts searching me...I will have a problem with that!!
Same as when I am in the position of authority, (Like when I am running a crew)...I expect them to follow my direction-- But I am also always careful to come at ppl correctly...altho sometimes that might mean, if they are not good listeners...that I might have to push harder than I normally would...and if they don't like it or can't handle it...they can Get Gone--:ying:

"Throughout human history, as our species has faced the frightening, terrorizing fact that we do not know who we are, or where we are going in this ocean of chaos, it has been the authorities — the political, the religious, the educational authorities — who attempted to comfort us by giving us order, rules, regulations, informing — forming in our minds — their view of reality. To think for yourself you must question authority and learn how to put yourself in a state of vulnerable open-mindedness, chaotic, confused vulnerability to inform yourself." -Timothy Leary

THINK FOR YOURSELF.

QUESTION AUTHORITY.

yes the authorities and I have a long standing agreement...they don't tell me what to do and I will do what I see fit.
No person has authority over me...'cause I'm in my own little world...

Seriously, I usually ignore 'authority' types to my detriment.

Let's face it. Everybody on this site has a problem with authority. Look the fu%!@ck at what we do. We are breaking the law and........ publicly advertising it. If we ain't first class rebels, I don't know who is.

I feel a lot of armchair anarchy in this thread
:D

OK

You have employed a few guys to erect steel on your site.
One will not wear a helmet... because he doesn't see why he should...it's his head after all and it's a hot day.

Do you:

a) Take an hour to explain health and safety legislation and his personal responsibilities in the eyes of the law. Patiently covering every one of his counter arguments.

b) Use your position of authority to enforce your rules and offer no further discussion. Perhaps even threatening to fire him for any further disobediance.

c) Let the opinionated twerp do his own thang and cause trouble amongst the rest of your gang...also risking your own future prospects.

When YOU become the authority figure, it's a different picture. I have certainly seen Mods say "abide by the rules or do one" with no further discussion.

Do You Have A Problem With Authority ??

I have a probably with assumed authority. The fuckers that thunk they are better than you because they have some invisible force of power over you by default due to their job title. However I have met one or two cops that keep it pretty trill.
