My First Australian Grow

So I'm new to Aus but am not a new grower, my last grow was done in my back garden in southafrica. I have just placed an order for

White Widow x Big Bud
NRS New Purple Power

I plan to do this grow in the back garden of a friends place in Western Sydney.

I plan to use seedling trays to germinate and then transfer into prepared ground.


Now I have a question for seasoned aussy growers, what date is optimum to get my new babies into the ground?

Anyway, will keep this thread updated with pics as I go along

Matey I found in the Sydney Basin that about 6-8 week before the summer solstice is what used to suit me, just depends on how touchy your plants are with the length off day, you will be able to go through until May in most years before you start getting frost sometimes June so you can get to finish some off the longer flowering strains

Year. March Equinox. June Solstice. September Equinox. December Solstice.

G'day, welcome to Oz. The summer solstice starts on 22 December at which time the day length is 14H 24M 44S.

So yeh, very oldman is probably about right, can be strain dependant.

I'm not putting mine out till the last minute because they flower at the proverbial drop of a hat.

usually put in mid september and harvest around may..

you've picked some 8week plants so this is good as anything longer lately will go mouldy as its been way too wet near the end of flower for the past two years.

or its been getting too cold near the end and you end up with fluffy shit.

I find my strain will flower straight away if put out in mid September......so I'm waiting until November.

I don't want to slow the process down while having plants flower and then going into reveg mode.

Each to there own I guess.

With seeds vs clones you can get away with earlier planting... but you probably know that

Ok so my order arrived after only 9 days, I'm well impressed with the delivery time from Seed Boutique + they sent me a bag of freebies labelled "Who's y' Daddy". They will defiantly get some repeat business from me.


I've chucked them in some tissue paper with abit of water inside a plastic container with the lid on and will stick them under my laptop for abit of warmth, hopefully I'll get a good germ rate..

Will get some photies up tomorrow... mine exceed the filesize limit it seems so will have to do something about that.

So i have had 100 percent germ rate with my New Purple power and WW X BB but 0 percent with the freebie seeds so far, but then it has only been 3 days so will leave them in the tissue paper till the end of the week.

I've loaded my jiffy pots with a seedling mix and planted my fourteen seeds that have popped given them a good soak and now its a waiting game...

Good luck.

I recommend just planting the freebies anyway. Some beans will take weeks to pop but i think the action in the soil may promote the seed into germing. Maybe just put em all in one pot and see what happens.

Thanks for the info benjuanman, i read something similar after searching around for a while.

After a week in the tissue paper the 'Who's ya Daddy's' started to germ, i had 9 out of ten of them germ so that makes 24 out of 25 of my seeds germed which is awesome..

Due to space constraints i am only going to had 5 plants in my mates garden so i will put 3 purple powers in a big pot with the hope that ill get at least one female and ill stick my four feminized white widows in a pot of their own each.... Does anyone know how likely i am to get a hermi with this feminized WW X BB strain? would hate to have to pull one..

My self and a mate are ganna take the rest of the plants and drive up into the mountains and plant the rest of the purple power and the 'who's ya daddy's'. i've bought a tomato feed and i'll take that with me along with as much water as i can get into the car and we'll plant them, feed them, water them and then pray for nice gorwing weather cause i wont be able to get to them very often and wont have water access. will probably leave them to seed out aswell. next year i wanna make a nice shelf growing project.

hi mate just wanted to mention there is no stella blue males , stella blue is clone only or from s1 seeds , came from humbolt threw the himalaya and ended up in amsterdam , and was hardly ever crossed because of the herm issuses , throws out bananas but its a pre cursor to kush or has similarities . dont mean your seeds wont be dope though , good luck matey
