PLEASE help, what kind of bug is harming these plants?

First of these are marigolds that are being harmed, and just a few weeks ago my indoor English Ivy died out of no where and had damaged leaves and webbing inside of it. I looked on the bottom of the leaves on my marigold and there was small little black bugs, are these spider mites?

Reason why I'm posting is because I'm also growing cannabis and I wanna figure out what the pest is to take precautions for my cannabis.

Can I use any kind of pesticide to get rid of it, if it does start to attack my cannabis?

Here's the pic of my marigold, and for what it's worth I live in a high desert climate.

To start, you can rinse many off with a good shower. The next thing I would do is read up on spider mites. "We are the borg."

what you post sound like mites and if it is that picture shows a major infestation.... good luck.

Pic looks more like a bottom-up fungal infection... all that whitish covering of the leaves.

if you found webbing inside and its black and little its def spidermites...and the white color on the plants is of the bitemarks of the colony of spiders....they tend to suck the plant dry till it shrivles and dies.....

Yeah cause they're all on the bottom and I looked it up today and that's what it said, they hang out on the under side of the leaves.

Question: Can I just buy any pesticide from a hydro store and will it pretty much do the trick? I have a feeling it will take a while for them to hit if they do, maybe when my plants are like a month old which is also apparently the only age you should start spraying them if needed.

I would spray most of them off with water, knock they're little asses off the plant. Then spray your plants with neem oil. While neem won't kill them instantly, it does mess with their feeding and reproducing. Neem is a wonderful preventative pesticide.

I doubt it bro... that whitish color looks just like standard garden mold... spreading like wild fire.

Just because you have the one, likely means you have many issues... esp outside.

That plant is saying one thing... "kill me"... ever heard of assisted suicide? Death isn't always such a bad thing... maybe even better than. ;-)

It does kind of look like powdery mildew, but can't really tell in the pic. Plus if you live in a high desert area, which usually means low humidity and warmer temps, PM is pretty unlikely. Can you describe the white spots on your leaves or maybe get a close up pic of them?

the bitemarks of a mite are tiny white specks and many bites wil discolor the leave......but you have to read what he said!....otherwise the creator would of said that hes finding some sort of powder on the leaves .....no? i realy don't think PM thrives in desert areas
not trying to be a dick but he's not dicribing PM
