Killin' it With Coolers.

Welcome to my 1000W Closet Camping Cooler Grow.

Serious AK-47 with Technaflora nutes. 10 days into flower in these pictures.

Camping coolers keep the water temps perfect with just a small icepack every couple days.

Got 22 ounces last time in my closet with smaller plants that were rootbound in their 5 gallon buckets. Now running larger plants in 10 gallon coolers, going for 32oz. this time.

Canopy about half trained in these pics, I did a bunch more training last night and I'll snap a picture when lights come on again tonight.

Your pics aren't showing because they're stored at a non IC cannabis site. IC does not allow links to such sites. Please see Article 8 of the TOU. Flame wars, site wars, attempts at hostile takeovers, it's a long ugly story with a capital UG!

Store your pics here in your own IC album and they'll show up.

Thanks for the idea.
Do you think wrapping them further in refletix would be of any help?

Thanks guys.

I suppose wrapping them might help a little more, but I don't know if it would be anything noticeable.

It's very easy to keep the temps under control with the coolers. Even with a full on setup with a chiller, you'd be using a lot less power to run your chiller with coolers.

I wonder if the 'grade' of cooler would make a difference, like the one that keep ice cold for a week, which they do once primed. Although the cosat would be conciderably more than those.

Did they have spouts already or soild cooler? Just thought it might be hard to make a hole for the larger vaulve with pre exsisting spout.

Bonuses all around..mold and mildew resistant insides that are made to be cleaned. Nice pics hope you make your goal!

Thanks Pazuzu,

They didn't have spouts, I just drilled a hole and put in bulkhead fittings.

The bigger red one has a spout, but I don't use it. I just drain one grow cooler through the bulkhead while the pump empties out the red cooler, then drain the other one.

Great idea. It looks like your plants are enjoying themselves too. Best of luck to you.

Thanks FunkBomb.

Another update.

These pics were taken at day 28. This AK47 pheno is one leafy bitch. I only keep her around cause she tastes so good, but I may be done after this one.. the trimming alone alone 4 times as long as the bubblegum I'm running next time, which is nice and chunky with a lot less leaf. Maybe I'll try order some more AK47 seeds and see if I can get a better pheno.

Hi Shafto,

Nice job with these plants. Thumbs up!
I have a question for you, you have plenty of o2 getting to the roots, I ve seen a nice lot of bubbles in one of your pics. What do you use to bring that amount of O2 to your roots? I sometimes use a DWC system for my plants and use two air pumps for each bucket and the amount of O2 brought to my roots isn t as good as yours.

I like it, coolers are the shit man, well done. I got a closet of dwc coolers saved to recycle into a tidal system in the future. No need to add reflectix. For folks thinking of doing this, Gott and Igloo make the best coolers, coleman sucks, it has just air space no actual insulation. Cool thread, thanks.

Nice pics man, I wonder if the cooler idea would provide any benefit in a soil grow. Perhaps keep the soil at a more constant temp than my 40gal walmart tote bins.

Might have to try that out at some point, thanks for the idea.
