Cannabis and bodybuilding??

As an avid cyclist (both roadie and MT) I can say that cannabis greatly helps with lung capacity and endurance. I would smoke a bowl and do my three hour circuit; then return and get some nice carb/protein shake and smoke generously to relax muscles and calm any pain. Take a shower and you feel like new!

That said... natural competitive bodybuilder and regular smoker right here.

I liked a spliff before training as well. Eventually association took over every time i had a spliff i wanted to train. Unfortunately these days I can't mow the lawn without being laid up for three days. lol.
 
What do you guys think about hemp protein powder? I use 4-6 scoops of whey protein right now per day, but I'm done when I finish this tub. I recently watched first hand how it was made. Nothing you didn't already know, probably. But in watching it, something in my subconscious kicked in and told me "there is no fucking way this is healthy food."

i really like to blaze before i lift, it helps my mind drift a bt off of the anguish i am putting myself through. the problem is that
1) i have a hard time pushing myself to a "10", i just cant get as maniacal for that last big lift.
2) its not really a great idea to drift off into space when you should be thinking about perfect form and focus.

my compromise it to only to oil rips before i lift.

as for the relief from muscle soreness due to exertion, I think most athletes that smoke, do it after their workout.

i am so cp ignorant.... can somebody put a side by side comparison of whey to hemp?..ive never seen it but it sounds interesting.

I smoke several times a day and take a bonghit and caffeine shot right before the gym..

i went from 145 to 178 in 5 months...

just been doin heavy compound exercises reps no higher then 10 no lower then 4..

Hemp seeds, bananas, yoghurt and oats are my main sources of food, i shuffle everything else.... I drink like 3 shakes a day and eat 2 meals.. 3-4k cals a day...

I also take creatine and tongkat ali (hormone supplement)

100 grams of hemp seeds = 30grams protien
200 grams sprouted buckwheat = 23grams protien 150 grams carbs
100-200 grams of honey/coconut sugar low glycemic 150 grams carbs
20-45grams of Raw Aminos
200 grams of Meat
120 grams of fatty acids (all essential 3 6 9 12)
25 grams dried fruit goji/maqai/acai antioxidants

3k diet

Protein - 188g (753 calories)
Carbs - 300g (1295 calories)
Fat - 117g (1055 calories)

those are perfect for not giving you tons of energy....at one time.

Like you said the glycemic index people don't take into consideration when eating to compound lift. You need all organs constantly fed, not only the muscles.

lol, it may sound like I am repeating what you said, but I understand fully and agree.

You must feel balanced, not spastic, not low-energy.

Not flighty, but also not so sedentary....it's a mental diet also!

I used to vape before the gym but noticed when i'm too high i have less power than usual.
Just a little helps me to get in the zone so i can better ignore my fatique after heavy sets and keep grinding.
I also take maca and ashwaganda as part of my preworkout. Gives a good energy boost and a better muscle pump.

It depends a bit on the time of day, but in the morning it works best to go straight and training then smoke afterwards, I don't usually smoke until at least 2 hours after waking up, I normally try to keep my 4:20 schedule but working from home is fucking hard... Just like @chilliwilli if I smoke before training I will do a little less. On the one hand, it's good because of the vasodilation that the weed gives, normally when I train in the afternoon without smoking, I lift the weights more and better... if I smoke, there's always that trick at the end of the sets... not the same.
Today I baked early and skipped the ab works.
