Very odd question about late flowering and increaseing light before reveg

has anybody even done the experiments to see if towards the later half of flowering if you upped the light to say 16-20 hours if there would be any increase in yeild, i mean will the plant just pump out buds for a good 3 weeks before it starts to reveg or are the hormones altered right away, and with that a loss of yeild, its a odd question i know but i havent seen it much explored. peeps flower on 13/11 and even 10/14 for other reasons, what about a technique of hammering with them for more light towards the end?

interesting...
i have re-veged 4 week flowering clones and they still produced resin and smelled great for about 2 weeks after changing to 24/0. i too wonder if the plant does not have to produce roots and is just re-veged almost at its peak... will it make a yield difference...? will the flowers mature as usual?

ive seen reveg growth in as little as 3 days, though that was with a roottrimmed and toptrimmed plant (they reveg faster)

usually its 2 weeks without roottrim or more.

though this comes to mind, even though plants do produce resin for some time and continue flowering (till the extra light has induced the chemicals in the plant to reveg)

smoking those buds, they are usually not that good, lower levels of thc with higher levels of cbd, not couchlock medicine, but sleep medicine and not very good one.

too much cbd just makes you feel tired. without that comfortable feeling that enough thc combined with the cbd give you.

and light degrades thc.

and we use highpower lamps.

and many people give their plants total darkness before the cut, to maximize thc. some days or more. (never done that myself though)

though some have claimed success by giving the plant a day or 2 of 20-24 hour sun (or 16)

its always followed by regular 12/12, or should be, imo. perhaps even a day or 2 of total darkness.

though...personally, i prefer just plain old 12/12 from start to finish and not mucking about with some "tweak" techniques that might or might not give you an extra % or 2..

if that..

im just relaying info ive read (aside from my own reveg experience, it looked very sticky and crystally but the goodness was just gone. also faded and bit dead looking. and thats after not that many days under 24)

That is interesting ,

Im a new grower and I have a blue mystic on 12/12 right now that only has maybe less then 2 weeks to go ,

I was wondering if i lengthened the dark hours up an hour or 2 to like 13 or 14 hours of dark instead of 12 if it would try to push out more thc or bud trying to stay alive

But i didnt think about trying to up the light hours more to the veggin time ,

Are you going to do that ? i would like to know the results of that

If a 7 day timer is available, setting it to 18/12 over the week gives the plant the extra light for growing but will not interrupt the budding cycle. That 12 dark is most important.
There is a chart for various 7 day cycles that work out to 168 hours for the week and keep the 12 dark consistant. I did not see more than 18 light on the chart. Does not mean more won't still work, it just was not tested by that grower. The thread is in the science section, but I cannot remember the name of it.

I have had some in buckets that I simply cut the hell out of and went about my way harvesting. 3-4 days later I notice that with my light for working being on she continued to grow so I left her and filled the rest in under a week and she grew out just fine like she did the previous run.

I say it's a damn weed guys feed her and she will adjust depending on the cycle she receives. I'm sure the strain depends on the abuse you might be able to give but all in all they are all just WEEDS.

I did 10/14 for 5 weeks and tried to push it to 16/8 in the last 2 weeks. It makes foxtales in the buds/colas on most my strains in flower, just like if you feed to much with grow-nutes in late state blooming.
This gives the buds a more fuzzy look and this might come in handy in order to, lower the chances of getting mold towards the very last week, if the strain makes very dense buds and is known to go moldy or like!

Only is possible to do with good stable strains, if the one used is known to go herm, the strain will most likly do this than grow fluffy!

I've reveged a few times. Probably strain dependent. When I had success, I harvested when time was right, and left as much leaf as possible, fed veg nutes 1/2 strength, under 200w floro raised fairly high, at 18/6. Last time, I had a satori and a C-4 with same everything. Satori quickly cratered, C-4 took it in stride, and came back vigorously. BTW, this was hand watered organic in 3 gal. EJ Aero-Bag coco80/20perlite. Good luck. -granger

You will lose yield and potency--bigtime. If you change the light schedule to 16-20 hours of light, your plant will quit flowering and go back into reveg.
