Go to home depot and get a high pressure pump?
What is the water source and are you pumping upwards?

its going from a bathroom up to the attic. how powerfull does the high pressure pump have to be? can i still use my 5/8'' outside dia 1/2'' inside dia hose or do i have to buy another one? im hoping that hose wasnt a waist of money cause that would be $75 down the drain. and now these clowns at the grow store are telling me i might not be able to return the pump. there the morons that said it would work in the first place! unbelievable

You need a sump pump like mentioned above. A regular submersible pump, like we use for hydro purposes, won't build enough head pressure to pump up stairs. You can still use the hose you have as long as you can connect the fitting from the pump into it. I have one that works just fine to pump water around.

how powerful does the high pressure pump have to be specifically? im not trying to make the same mistake again. does someone have a specific name and model of one that would work or a minimum horse power or something?

Look on the side of the box. It will say how high it will pump (head pressure). 10ft etc. get one that pumps at least 50 percent higher then your total elevation gain from your rez. A ridgid .5 hp will pump 20ft max.

May as well get a shutoff fitting for the end of your hose as well so you don't have to yell "shut the freakn pump off" at the top of your lungs to someone downstairs. Also, take the pump outta the box and make sure you get the proper connections to go from the pump to a garden hose before you leave the store.

Larger diameter garden hose would help.

Your pumping up a stair case. A pump with a rating of 1/6, 1/3, to 1/2 hp should do the trick. But you will need to find one that has a fitting that can be fashioned some way ot another that you can use your hose on. With your smaller diamater hose a 1/6th hp may be able to pump the water where you want it because you're pumping a smaller volume of water through the 5/8ths " hose than through, say a 1" hose. My 1/6th hp pump came with fittings and one was to fit a 1/2 id hose. A lot of pressure with it but then again I'm not pumping water up stairs.

Yea home depot will work. Keep the receipt and they take em back used or not (in my experience)

How high do you need to pump? Figure that out first and then check the units out online, read the specification chart that is listed with the pumps and get an idea of what you need.

Nail down what you want and go pick it out. Open the box with the pump you want in the store so you can locate the outlet. Then check if it'll fit a garden hose. If it doesn't then your gonna need a fitting to go from the pump outlet to hose bib thread. Just to be on the safe side.

PVC fittings are a wonderful thing, lol

Ask a Plummer....just call one up and inquire what would work and price!

Why would he ask a fruit grower?

Oh you mean plumber....lol i'm hilarious i know....

You need a reducing bushing. 1.25 or whatever the outlet is to garden hose. Ask grandpa in the plumbing aisle and he will get it for you.

Do a google search on connecting a sump to a garden hose?
