one bottle of floranova grow and one bottle of floranova bloom will treat you well. Lots of proof in my albums. One bottle does all.

i have used everything listed above and a lot of other so-called "cannabis" specific nutes and none of them grow weed like Jack's hydroponic special 5-12-26 plus calcium nitrate used at the 1/.67 ratio. both are available at www.jrpeterslab.com

when mixed at this ratio you get

n-p-k-ca-mg at 150-52-215-116-63

this reflects the tissue analysis done to develop this product and is approx the 3-1-4 ratio that is being used by a lot of cannabis growers now.

you will not have to use any pk boosters or cal-mag additives with this product. the magnesium content is 6.38 % in the base formula.

i'm growing plants at 600 ppm or ec 1.2 at all stages of life with jack's and ro water using no ph adjusters.

there are a lot of pics in my thread showing plants using jack's.

i rarely get a plant under 16 oz's and have gotten 22 oz's.

I know this is a Hydro thread .... but Delta .. could the jack's be used in a promix & perlite combo ?& could they be used with my blumats ? the blumats use a 3mm drip line & clog easy with thick or organic nutes .

The more crap you fill your res with, the more full of crap your res will be.

I'd stick with the 2 bottle + pH down method. Either premixed formulas for veg or flower or, micro & bloom bottles you mix into veg or flower formulas. That and pH control (most likely pH down) are all you need and even then at about 1/2 the rate suggested on the bottles.

After a few grows, if you still feel the need, add one item per grow. That way you'll see if there's actually any benefit and, more important, you'll know what to blame when the grow goes bad.

apologies to thc_lover for posting off topic.

i don't know much about promix but if it does not contain much in the way of nutrients i think it would work fine.

Botanicare CNS17 Grow 3-2-4
Botanicare CNS17 Ripe 1-5-4

$12/quart
$25/gallon
$60/2.5 gallons
$100/5 gallons

You'll use somewhere between 10ml and 25ml per gallon depending on the time of growth and the strains tolerance to EC.

Admittedly, not as cheap as Jack's Professional Hydro and Cal-Nitrate, but I find these nutrients to be under represented in the growing market. The reason I like them is because they are One-Part systems and they contain higher than average levels of Calcium and Magnesium which helps eliminate the need for additional supplements like Cal-Mag Plus. The MaxiGrow and MaxiBloom series is cheaper up front but they usually require the addition of a Cal-Mag supplement; this makes using Maxi just a hair more expensive gallon for gallon compared to CNS17.

Personally, I like to have a little more control over my Potassium and my Magnesium levels for cannabis. Epsom Salts are pretty useful when you need just that extra 10ppm of magnesium (an extra 15% sometimes) to keep the plants green and healthy in bloom. To aid in the Potassium levels I used to use Humboldt Nutrients Deuce-Deuce 0-0-22 but found the stuff to be too "funky" in the reservoir. I have been using Cutting Edge Solutions Uncle John's Blend 0-0-2 in combination with low levels of a 0-0-3 Potassium Silicate supplement to help dial in those levels a bit. The UJB has made a fantastic impact on my resin production and the Silicate is cheap enough (at $12/L and ~2ml/gallon when mixing) that even if the Silica isn't helping build the big thick stems I get now I still appreciate the K boost it provides. Especially when these are used as infrequent foliar sprays.

Then again... I'm not a K.I.S.S. grower.

So CNS17 Grow and Ripe. That's it. Got all your bases covered, cheaper than GH Lucas formula plant for plant, day for day (by a very small margin), and easier too because you only need to measure one thing. Mix. And you're done. Doesn't get more KISS than a one-parter :)
