Vesuvius
ive been growing in a small closet(2ft x 3ft x 4ft tall) for a year now and about a month ago i decided i needed a little more space.
so i gathered up some supplies and went to work on a new setup
equipment used:
vortex 6" fan
fan speed controler
phat 6x24 filter
phat silent bob muffler 8" size
sentinel evc-1
8 tube 4ft t-5
12" honeywell 3spd fan
accurite therm/hygro
4 sheets 2" thick pink foam
wood scraps from work
hydrofarm reflective film
etc...
did i mention im a cabinet builder and have acces to some cool tools and wood shop.
the inside of my new cab measures 48" wide, 30" deep, and 60" tall.
i used a dado saw to inset strips of 1/4 wood near the foam edges so that i could screw the foam together and have something hard for the screws to grab.
i also used 1/4" melamine that i laminated to the floor foam and ceiling foam.
i inset wood on the outside around the door opening so it would stiffen the area and so the inner door stop could be screwed tightly into the foam, i also stiffened the door in a similar fashion.
i used weather strip on back of door and inner stop to create a light tight air tight seal.
i built a little sleeve around my thermo hygro so i could inset it in my cab wall and be able to view it from the outside.
the exhaust fan is in a 2ft box filled with cellulose insulation(not pictured)
ive been running it for 3 weeks now and its chugging along nicely.
very little noise, completly light tight and maintaining 40% hum
and 80f day 73f night temps.
heres some piks
