I apply soil sulfur in the field from time to time to help lower soil ph.

But I have alkaline soil and high ph Colorado river water. Why are you using it?

i thought it was an underground reservoir in the area.
If I'm close are they going to sell the water to LA?

There is a large aquifer (underground) in the valley but farmers use mostly water from the canal system (Colorado river water) that snakes through the farm land. And no, we ain't selling the water to LA. That lawsuit was settled about a decade ago. LOL

For some reason I always placed you in Cadiz.I hear they're wanting to sell water.
Sounds more like PV. I drew up swimming in those canals. Especially the one out behind the school grounds.
Must be planting grapes now.

LOL Cadiz. I developed the ranches out there. They paid me to develop their ranches to foster interest in selling their aquifer to the Metropolitan Water District in LA. but no, I don't live there, I traveled there.

I have done business with PVID also, and have property on the Mesa.

You mean Nichols Warm Springs? LOL
We had a house on Pepper Tree Drive.
Pops was a soil scientist for the SCS. Wrote a pamphlet on the soils of the PV valley..

it's for hydrangeas and other perennials.

cannabis likes a pH close to neutral (yes I realize it is not seven but 6.5 is damn close)

I guess I've read your dad's work.

This property is above Ripley on the mesa.

Beautiful downtown Ripley. River resort, until the river shifted. Lots of residue salt. I can see the need for sulfur.

i love it when i start a thread one way and it ends up going a totally other direction! lol

the reason why i ask is, as i read the label it helps to turn other plants blue. i have some blueberry from peakseedsbc that i want to make sure turn blue so i thought this might help it along.

i got the sweet skunk, blueberry and northern lights, never grown either one. not wanting to try anything new just wondering if anyone else has used it since from what i know, cannabis is and acid loving plant.

had to start using my hydro nutes since the organics i have went bad on me and the hydro nutes were all i had left (kinda strapped for cash at the moment, gotta use whati have).

any one ever utilize the espoma soil acidifier?

I apologize for the hijack.
Epsoma products seem to be of decent quality..
Looks like basically gypsum which is composed partially of sulfur. Sulfur is used in sandy soils that has had a lot of water filtered through by nature, leaving salts behind. It helps leach out the salt, lowering the ph.
As far as turning plants blue, I have no idea if it does or why I would want to.
We used to burn sulfur candles to fumigate the house. It's a fungicide and kills bugs. Get it on your smoke and it's some of the nastiest stuff ever.
