It was about buying a house for growing having only a minimal amount of $ as a down payment.

Most of the techniques in that thread CAN work but will require you to be creative and ambitious and persistent.


Here's how it can work:

You find someone who needs to get out of their house REALLY REALLY BAD. (Could be divorce, lost job, got transfered out of state, it's their parents house and their parents just died, house is about to be foreclosed on, etc.)

You let them know that you can't afford to buy it outright at the moment, but that you can pay enough to get the mortgage back up to date (if its' behind) and then you can move in and pay the mortgage in their name for a year or so until you can get it financed in your own name.

You take over their payments and they get to go do whatever they were going to do. They don't get foreclosed on, and you get a place to live.

Won't work unless they're super desperate and you seem super trustworthy.

That's why it requires time and energy and motivation.

I could go on for 40 pages about the details, but that's basically how it works.
