Cool as, i just been looking at a few catfish/carp tour holidays there, look very reasonable to me.

i did a bit of reseach before i booked . watch out some will rip you off.
they drop you at the river and fook off . i had 2 dudes for the first 2 and a half days with me putting the lines out baiting up ect ect . was well worth the ££££ .
green was cheap as chips too . 3 euro a gram lol hash was 4 euro
Yeah, someone always cashing-in on uneducated fishing tourists. local guys or britsh pats? i see a few brits set up on the fishing crack over there. cant pay for local knowledge when it comes to wetting lines. loads to investigate.

the only thing about the ebro is the rubbish along the banks . its like fishing at a rubbish tip.
its due to the polish and romanians and some spainish . just like the uk they use the river like it was there own . but next yr new laws will be in so hopefully this will stop alot of it .

yep lastyr day tickets and policed river came in at Mequinensa, that part of the river is spotless and no polish ect ect as it is day tickets but now they move up river to caspe and other places roll on the day tickets . . in 30 mins we filled 30 back bags of rubbish that 3 of us the next day it was like a tip again . night fishing is banned on the ebro but they still do it . they kill carp n cats for food on a 100lb catfish theres only 1 part what u can eat 2 fillets down the back bone this would be around 4lb of eating meat , great shame to see a 100lb fish killed just for 4lb of meat,.
no they didnt bag it up thats what other fisher men did .
Thought it looked a bit neat n too good to be true. I hear bad thing about the polls eating all the native fish(any fish lol). Dont seem to have a very good name in EU as apposed to britain alone, i doubt there the only ones mind. lets hope we see an end to that dissgrace, fk-up aint it. No respect for nothing.

Anybody wanting to eat Wels catfish from the Ebro is mental, top level predators in a river with hundreds of miles of industry and Nuclear Power stations draining into it, they will have more Heavy Metal in them than Ozzy Osbourne's record collection.

yer dude they get so big due to the warm water and loads n loads of small fish to eat . the fun is reeling them in its like tieing a line around the back of a motorcross bike and trying too reel it in when the bike is in 1st gear .

so true mate when i left fishing i got the train to reus wow some of the river looks great . what a train ride was on the train for just under 2 hours and only cost 9e .
1 of the cats i had around 79lb spat out a wide boars leg lol . just shows they will eat anything.

The locals say they have emptied the river, that there are no small Carp in the river anymore... but Fish populations tend to go in cycles anyway, at the moment there are loads of Zander [Pike Perch] coming out and the American Black Bass are increasing.
Legally, they are Alien fish and you must kill them, it is E300 or more denuncia, fine, if you are caught returning them. This is despite the river's famous Wels Catfish bringing thousands of Euros every week into an poor area with virtually no other tourism.
First time I saw one hooked, 163LB, it took 45 minutes to land, nearly pulled a large boat under, then 2 large blokes nearly in the drink.... Last time I went down there I had a 70 from a small kiddies inflatable boat, that was a pretty hands on experience....
The river is different, as you know, always going to be harder work, a lot of reeling in checking baits, by the pond it is more like UK Carp fishing, hours of dossing around on your ass, biftas in the bivvy...
Not surprised about the Boar leg, at least you had your Sunday roast sorted.. Also heard a story of a Staffie getting taken while swimming, divers cleaning the Dam at Mequinenza refused to work there again, spooked by the monsters down below.

Would both the carp and the Wels catfish both be alien aka invasive fish? Would make sense, they've probably eaten all the native wildlife down to the nub!
That is crazy... So its like fishing for gigantic underwater monsters. Fun!

Great pics and fish,the ebro is some way north of me,might get a chance to fish it after this serason ends before I go to Thailand to fish the Mekong again,tight lines and be lucky.

hey guys im booking 4 days on the ebro again next month . i wont be catfishing only carp . then next year march time i hope to go out for 4 weeks carping they have offered me a great deal .....
