question for ez clone users who transplant to soil

Just lookin for general info on how you do it. How long do you let the roots get before puttin em in soil. I took 16oz cups of soil, dug my index finger in the center almost all the wat to the bottom and then put the root mass(4-5 inches) in the hole as gently as possible and backfilled the small hole. Only 2 of 5 look like they're gonna make it and I have a run of 30 going right now that id like to survive lol.any tips appreciated and yes I searched already and found no answer. Thanks in advance

They only need to be an inch or so long for soil. Also, hold the clone and empty cup with one hand, and fill it in gently with soil, much better than trying to stuff the rootmass into a hole. Sounds like either you were too rough with them, or the roots were too long to take easily to the soil.

I use an areo cloner and a bubble cloner. Best results I've ever had transplanting to soil was before there were any real roots. I just waited until the white bumps formed, stuck 'em in the same cups you did, and they took off without missing a beat. Good luck dude.

I've been using an Ez-cloner for a few years. I let the roots get 6-8" before I transplant. I fill the container with soil leaving a couple inches to back fill. I then gently spread the roots and back fill. In my experience it seems with a little longer roots they don't wilt.

It sometime helps to put them in a dome for a day or two after the switch.

Been using a ez cloner for quite awhile now and never had an issue going into dirt! I grow dwc now! Just let the roots get around 4 to 5 inches and hold clone up and add your soil! (I use beer cups at this point) Also found that if you bottom water them for 2 weeks they grow better. 100% everytime! Peace Budy

If the roots are 1" or longer, you're good. I usually let mine get a good mass of roots about 6-8 inches and stick em in promix

I've NEVER needed a dome, so long as the light wasn't too strong or the room to hot/dry, everything's hunky-dory. Dome BAD!

As far as the length, shorter roots ALWAYS take better to soil than longer roots will IME.

Now, when I transplant from the aerocloner to Bio-Buckets, the longer the roots the better! :whee:

i normally let the roots get long 6-8" so it anchor the plants in real tight and sturdy. i find if i do put them in short like a 1" or so the plants tend to be a lil loose in the ground for a while. in my set up i have to pull half the plants out to water the rest so i like a sturdy deep rooted clone.

Thanks for all the great info as im getting ready to use my EZ cloner as well.

But one question, i have only an 8 site and wondered if i could put say 2 plants in it and grow em out in my tent? Not sure why not. My only concern is that i would have to many roots with not enough room for two. If so what about just one? I am growing all Indica's so they should stay short. The strain im running now after 45 days veg is only about a foot tall, but she just was re potted so we shall see just how big she is when finished.

Thanks for the info............

If you're talking about using the EZcloner to grow them to maturity in, it can be done, but personally I wouldn't. Even when I've left a clone in for just a week or 2 longer than normal, the neoprene collar couldn't handle the weight. Add to the fact it isn't designed to grow plants to maturity in, meaning you would need to modify it or whatever, wasting even more time and effort.

Just build a proper hydro setup or throw it into soil, unless you like wasting your time, in which case, go right ahead. :tiphat:
