My friend runs an 11 x 7 sealed room with CO2, dehumidifier and a 14 k btu Mr.Slim and he' can keep his room @30% RH no prob.
How many plants are you running in there? Are you burning propane or using CO2 bottles?

burning propane but im having problems with the controller and burner thats why i thank its rh. iv got 8 5 foot plants in the room with 4 600 watt & 1 1000 watt hps lights. they are in 4 27 gallon pots of coco.

What size dehuey are you using? Also, burning propane adds humidity to the room...

its a 30 pint any thing bigger puts my room temps over 100f. one other things is that here the outside humidity stays avg 75% but its summer and right now looking at the weather its 91% hr with 96 F temps outside.

30 pints is not very big. I use a 70 pint for a room half yours, and I also run a 14K btu Mitsu.
That unit puts out a lot of heat because it's working real hard to dehumidify.
My advise is to get a bigger unit.
In my situation, the dehuey and mini split run as one system. The dehuey causes the AC to ramp up to cool the room, which in turn helps remove moisture from the air, which makes the dehuey work less.

with that kinda a/c,you shouldnt have a humidity problem, but since u do,lets try to figure it out. First, your running 3400 watts in a 10 x 10 room and im assuming theres no air cooling for the lights? so,with that kinda wattage in a small space, with no air cooling of the lights, high outside temps, propane burner, dehumidifier,im sure the a/c is running quite continuous.

I would scrap that propane burner for now(not totally) and shut off that dehumidifier. Now,see what happens with the ac set at whatever temp you have it set for.
the a/c will most certainly take care of the heat and humidity at the same time.

The dehumidifier is very small and good for a closet, not a 10x10 room.Up your dehumid to 70 pints. Danby comes to mind and works well. Run that at night with the lights off. The a/c may run less frequently with less heat in the room from the lights being off. What will happen is the humidity will climb in the room during the dark period due to more time in between a/c cycles. This is when the dehumidier comes into play and keeps your humidity in check.any excess heat that the dehumidifier puts out will be handled by the a/c.

Propane co2 gens are great during winter and tricky during summer unless there water cooled like hydro innovations.(not a plug, just happens to be the only one i know or have seen used).Look into bottled gas for summer months. Two 20 lbs in a sealed room will last a month in that size room.If thats a pain in the ass, look into the boost bucket- ask and see what size room they will do b4 purchasing.

So to review: shut off the propane generator. run the dehumidifier at night only(get rid of the 30 and up it to 70 pint, trust me).

get a decent dehumidifier like a danby. soleus is o.k they have been redesigned. most of the retail dehumidifiers are all china crap but u have to go with the best one. If you could afford it,grownerd has a couple of commercial recommendations of dehumidifiers i saw in another thread.

also, shut that propane generator off for now.let me know how it all goes.

the only 70 pint i could find in town was a frigidaire. its been raining all night and today more rain on the way. when i open my room door it shots to 100 %.

try the 70 pint frigidaire if that your only choice. 100 percent? with the lights on and a/c on? soon as you get that bigger dehumidifier the better.

lights just came on had the 70 pint running for 8 of the 12 hours of lights out, with the co2 burner off.
and was able to get the rh down to 55% but the real test will be with the lights on. tbc

update the room temps were 110 F with rh back up to 75%.

i think there is somthing worng with my ac it does not seem to be cooling as well with the lights on. i wonder if the evap coils are freezing like the window unit i used to have. idk

man fuck my co2 gen took a shit and now the ac what else can go wrong

Who installed the AC? The last time a mini split of mine wasn't up to the task of cooling was because the line set had a leak. Stupid tech who vacuumed it down didn't bother checking for leaks.

blackthumb, yeah your a/c sounds like it isnt working right. i had a 12000 cooling 4000 watts in a slightly larger room.granted it was running all the time, but it was full on summer second floor.

it does sound like freon is may be leaking... i hope u get everything fixed and it starts to come together 4 u.

i had a friend of mine install the unit he works for an a/c business, but i cant call him back cause he dont know that im growing. so im going to get some leak diy and a uv light.
i got r 410 gauge set does anyone know what the pressures should be when the unit is running?

the indoor unit temp is only coming out at 80F and thats with the line ice cold in fact so cold that my thumb stuck to the line somthing is not right.

try taking ur res out of that room, and install a 10 inch exhaust to vent out every couple hours for 15 min and get another dehui or buy another ac and dehui
