4x8 ebb n flow max number of plants

I've got 2 x 600w HPS over a 4x8 ebb n flo. Does this seem like sufficient light for 20 plants? I did 10 in a 4x4 with 1x1000 and got close to 2lbs every time

I would either go to 2X1000 (3 is amazing!) or at least 3X600's, otherwise you're down to 37.5 watts per square foot with 2X600 over 32 square feet. 600's lack the penetration and footprint of the bigger 1K's, so smaller plants and fewer of them would be the order of the day.

I agree. I run 600s over 3x3 tables. A 600 is going to be lacking out at the sides of a 4x4 footprint.

stoney419 ran 2 600's on a mover over 4x8 flood tables, pulled 3+lbs using over 100 plants

lookup his thread. legendary

I have never been able to equal the yields i was able to pull copying Stoney"s BIG SOG thread! He ran 128 plants or more.

I have been able to fit 144 plants in Botanicare's trays. 128 in GroTek trays. both 4x8 trays... all using the same 5.5" black pots(<$0.50ea) 2.6liter volume I think?

4 plants per square foot is the minimum allowable plant count for me to call my grow a Sea of Green; kinda like the Hawaiian Scale applied to SOG instead of wave height ;-)

I have run 600's and 1000's over 4x8 tables. The 600's just dont seem to cover the edges as well. You could easily see on each table where the plants were shorter on the outer edges.

I disagree with Lazyman where he says less and smaller plants. If you insist on 600's I would go with MORE smaller plants. 20 plants to fill a 4x8 table, will be pretty big and you wont have good penetration.

Of course you could always scrog 1 or 2 plants and fill the whole table.....

And this is when 2 rows of 3-600's over 2 4x8 tables works great for SOG. the side light problems is much better taken care of. Shit i even grow bigger buds in the "darker" areas just cause its cooler there then right under the beefy hps. :tiphat:

Thanks for the great info. You guys on here are amazing. such a great forum. I would do 3 600's or 2 1000's but I'm in an aparrtment and heat/ventilatoin and power is a limitation. I only have 15 amp breakers for 2 outlet circuits so I can't put in much more heat or light. I have fresh air being pumped in from a cool room and can fan and carbon filter sending the filtered exhaust out so the ventilation is ok but I can't add any more light because the breakers will trip if I add another 5 amps. Any suggestions on that one?

I also read krunchbubbles thread on high yield defoliation which I do, since clonse stage so the light deinitely penetrates to the entire bottom, plus super cropping, just missing CO2. I Have limited power, in an apartment so I can't plug another HPS in since the amps are too high, the 2 600's are around 5 amps, and my outlet breakers are only 15 and there's two 15 amp circuits, there's one 600 on each. The ones I got going in veg now are looking amazing, but I totally notices the size of the ones on the sides. It may not be high times cover perfect but I bet I can still get a good high quality product, less yield or not, i'd rather have 3lbs of great stuff than 4 of airy shit. I think as long as I keep it super pruned and bonzai the hell out of it like crunchbubble says they'llbe ok, next bath is some awesome pre-98 bubba, less plants though, maybe 15

well, I got 2 600 HPS's over a 4x8 using simple consistent nutes, clean HEPA fresh air in, heat out, exhaust of room out for odor and good air flow. I got 20 going in a 4x8 using 2 600 HPS's, using k33frtz high yield defoliation info I should be able to max this out. It's Blue Dream, and it's going very well, Pics to follow, any advice in space/num. of plants is highly appreciated.
