Howdy icmaggers!! It's Khaleel here, back at it with a plain water, organic soil mix. just had a great couple runs using nothing but Maxibloom, a GH product that costs about $4 per cycle. (no shit lol check the KISS link/thread in my signature line for more details). anyway, now it is time for a water-only mix, all the way through. got this from a very good friend and pimp grower of growers I got to see this method in action on a much larger scale and it was absolutely beautiful. almost 2 lbs per 1000 watts. (!!)

1 cup kelp
1 bail sunshine #4 (substituting pro-mix, closest i can get to the sunshine)
1 cup bone meal
1 bag ocean forest
1 cup green sand
1 bag happy frog
1 cup bat guano(P)
2 bags wiggle worm
1 cup lime

i'm going to plant in the rubbermaid totes, 32 quarts i think somewhere close to 2 feet x 2 feet, corn row style - 6 rooted clones in each.

may as well show you what i'm workin with. two 1000 hps in bloom, a small squirell fan (maybe 200 cfm tops) pulling through a can filter.

the bloom room is about 10' long x 8 ' high x 6' wide. temps are a steady 70-75, at night low 60s sometimes mid-upper 50s.

in veg i have a 400 watt metal halide. babies are just in cups, well starting to show root stress cuz they are ready for tomorrows transplant and nutrients lol

clone setup is just a rubbermaid tote, 2 air stones, an air pump, and a submersible heater all from petsmart (intended for 10 gal fish tanks). i buy one of the Sunleaves Float and Grow styrofoam inserts, then use rapid rooter plugs or whatever your preference. works pretty well. water goes through a brita filter, and gotta make sure you change it once a week (i water out of it when i need to change it). just hang a 2 strip T5 over the top, plugged in to the same timer as veg (20/4).

Ohhhh, and the strains. The strains look amazing...do you make those crosses?

I am definitely subscribed...I just got excited when I saw all those soil amendments. Are you planning on using anything.. molasses, the occasionally tea or booster, or only nutes if absolutely necessary?

cyat: thanks bro, no need to cook the mix it is good to go. mycorrhizae and rhizobium etc. are already in the happy frog and ocean forest so all is well in microbial land...

Epiphyte: lol thanks bro, gotta keep evolving, that is how we got to where we are in the first place no? well for additives this mix has everything needed so no... of course if things start going wrong (knock on wood) i will do what is needed in real time to save them, as i would with any system, but no it should all work beautifully.. saw it in action and plants were very healthy, at different phases of bloom and growth.. i'll do molasses probably during the flush cuz i am old school like that lol but nothing else. thanks for the post mate!

alright, i busted my ass off yesterday but got everything goin. pics are self-explanatory. budded girls are coming down any day. in fact i think i'm about to go pluck the gold/purple grandaddy purps.. at day 66. something about that number turns me on.

that's a 1/4 inch or so of perlite on the bottom of each tub..

here's the veg room after a little cleaning and rearranging for more space, i like the adjustments very much, using the whole room now not just half/one corner

hey khaleel...I have a very indefinite feeling I know who showed you this mix, and he grows a lotta nice kushes.

used this mix before myself once or twice and it is the bomb....might have to give some longer strains just a tad bit of fert near the end

i love these organic water only mixes. i use a similar one myself and add occasional teas and fish emulsions, seaweed extracts, molasses, epsom salts, fulvic acids.

hey brotha, thanks for the kind words and be sure to drop a note in here once your thread is up! and hell yeah if we get together you are definitely in the list of invites, and least for me, you been one of my regular homies on this site for years let's see, the perlite is for drainage.. if i didn't have anything on the bottom, the bottom layer tends to stay soaked.. your conventional pots and grow bags have drainage holes for this reason, but the totes do not. idk with the cat litter containers i don't worry about it and things are fine (see monster TW x killer chem lol) but figured i better be safe since it is such a big container. besides i had a bag of perlite laying around lol as for the green sand, here ya go (organic.gardening.about.com -- somethin like that): Greensand is an organic fertilizer that contains the deposits of minerals that were once part of the ocean floor. Also called "glauconite," greensand has a bluish-green color. The NPK ratio for greensand is approximately 0-0-3. It is a good organic source of potash (important for overall plant health and disease resistance) and can also be applied at a rate of 50 to 100 pounds per 1000 square feet to improve clay soils. (I've never used it before, just following the notes from my guru lol)
