Can I start germed seeds in Foxfarm ocean forest?

You can, but there are better choices for starting seeds. I've started a bunch of seed in OF. Most have been fine. Some have burned. None have died.

Yes you can but you have to be diligent in making sure the soil surface doesn't dry up too much, I'd say use a humidity dome until the sprout surfaces then carry on like you normally would.

I don't personally like the soil germ method, mainly because Im too OCD and like to know what the seed is doing every day until it's planted. I have no time to waste on seeds that don't sprout or take way too long.

That is too hot for seedlings, IMO. It will burn them.
Use Fox Farms Lightwarrior mix, which is specifically made for seedlings.

you can start them in ffof but be careful of hazes they can be very picky. i like to use happy frog it a little bit lighter than the ffof and a little stronger than the light warrior. this has always worked great for me with no problems. in fact i use nothing but happy frog until i transplant into my big pots for flowering...the happy frog works great all the way through veging

i wouldn't. start them in plain topsoil if you have to, transplant to FFOF but make sure you cut it down by about half with plain dirt, then transplant again to straight FFOF.

it is way too hot to start seedlings in.

I would cut 50/50 with promix, saves cash, stretches the FFOF, and no worry about burning then

also the happy frog comment is good. I also say you can cut with pro-mix, as I have used it on clones before and was perfect to cut 50/50.. held them 2 weeks and was fine till they "out-grew" the pot

don't use light warrior, it's to light, I think it was fox farms attempt of a "promix" product. it basically is useless, and costs way to much for how small that bag is.... this is from there website: "Start feeding plants within five days of planting or germination" , this product is not superior to anything, and is a waste...

hit and miss with the FFOF. i don't think ocean forrest is the exact same mix every time. start em in something else if they are the only beans you have.

If you run a good amount of water through the soil, kinda like a flush, then it'll reduce the nutes in the soil and therefore the chances of burn. I'm no pro, but so far on my first 2 grows I've started seedlings in the same soil that I will use throughout the plants life.
