DEA Denies Rescheduling Petition

The agenda of the government in its policies against Cannabis have always been to deprive the people access to the plant, while maintaining control over it for the government’s own self-interest. This self-interest extends to a multitude of industries including the prison and military industry, the petroleum, timber, cotton, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the entirety of the banking and corporate establishment which has become empowered through disconnecting people from their one true source of independence and sustenance, the Earth. Cannabis prohibition has served to redirect human evolution from that of a decentralized agrarian lifestyle and natural economy, to a centralized petro-chemical military dictatorship controlled through the artificial economic will of private banks and other trans-national corporate interests.
The next stage in continuing this control, is in the regulation, licensing and taxation of Cannabis cultivation and use through the only practical means available to the corporate system, which is through genetic engineering and patenting of the Cannabis genome.

well he did manage to declare afg. a "combat zone" without congress..
specifically the air space above afg. whereupon he commenced tactical strikes BEFORE congressional approval.

You don't say? :chin: I don't believe there was congressional delay over Afghanistan. But Iraq was a different story (which happens to be the subject of my comment.:))

of course bush was a traitor and a war criminal as has been every president since carter including BHO..

hell as far back as jfk?

You're right there, at least you're with Ellsberg. Recent history's enhanced, presidential powers could work in our favor but I just don't see it in the cards with Obama and mj reform .

Fuck the DEA!!!... piss me off so much.. Obviously they care more about money than doing the right thing. Get rid of all the prisons, prison guards, DEA, Drug task forces, etc etc.. And provide TREATMENT instead of throwing human beings in cages. Fuckin crazy, and if this non-sense continues to get worse and worse than theres going to have to be a revolution!!!

It's a money grab. If everybody was permitted to grow their own, some would sell it to those who prefer to buy. That's tax-free money in the governments eyes and the feds have never stopped going after moonshiners.

IMO, the medicinal approach may have shot us in the foot. I'm glad to see that Cali is approaching this from a non-medical perspective in 2012. Best wishes to you guys.

so now we all understand..

the executive has the power to direct the agencies/officials involved in the implementation/enforcement but chooses to allow the draconian policies to continue.
is this either from a lack of compassion for our plight or a fundamental belief that we deserve to be imprisoned?

great question.
Answer: both.
The plight we face is that they do believe that we need to be imprisoned. If they could just get all the bad apples out of the barrel once and for all, then their world would be set right. And bad apples deserve no compassion, just get rid of them.

AS far as rescheduling...
The Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970, Pub. L. No. 91-513, 84 Stat. 1236 (Oct. 27, 1970), is a United States federal law that made the pharmaceutical companies keep records and maintain security of some drugs.
The Controlled Substances Act is Title II of the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Act of 1970. Anyone can initiate proceedings to change or remove drugs from the schedule. Advocacy groups, drug manufacturers, pharmacy associations, the DEA, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and many others.
If marijuana was requested to be removed or even moved to a less strict schedule, the DEA would investigate. Then the Administrator of the DEA, by the authority of the Attorney General, would ask the HHS to do a medical and scientific evaluation of marijuana to see whether or not it should be moved or removed.
The HHS gets evaluations from the FDA, and the National Institute on Drug Abuse, then the HHS sends the whole report back to the DEA. The medical and scientific reports are binding and the DEA must follow their advice on whether to control, and where on the schedule it will go.

The only way around this is through the HHS. If the HHS recommends that the substance not be controlled, the DEA may not control it.

Maybe the HHS is where we need to have our people working.

I've always been a little leery of the medical route. Making cannabis sched 3 would help pharmaceutical companies who could then make pills to sell from marijuana, but would screw us from being able to smoke marijuana. I like the decrim/legalization route, but maybe since the CSA has marijuana on its schedule already, maybe there is no other way to remove it from the schedule.
I'm not sure what Schedules 4 and 5 are, 5 maybe OTC? That would probably be OK?

I just saw one of the latest Iowa polls:

Bachmann - 25%

Romney 21%

Pawlenty - 9%

Paul - 6%

I never believe polls, they're always wrong. Early on when people were speculating if D. Trump was going to run (how stupid are they?) he was at 22%. I sincerely hope this poll is wrong because if anyone in their right mind would vote for Romney,Bachmann, and Pawlenty I'll be moving to another country. They have all managed to embarrass themselves on national television. No offense to Mormons, but Romney is one and that alone ensures he isn't winning anything. Tim Pawlenty is a major ass hat, yeah, an ass hat. He tried to get youth voters by mentioning Lady Gaga songs in his speeches and making a campaign video that looks more like the next summer action film. They all suck, except Ron Paul. Seriously, looking at all the choices, Ron Paul is the only one I could vote for without feeling like I made a mistake later. Anyway, what happened to Herman Cain and his small bills proposal? He was the front runner a while back. Maybe people realized he isn't very smart. For those of you who are going to vote for Obama because of what he "might" do after the election are going to be very disappointed. Where are you getting this from? He has been speaking out against us this entire time he has been president and hasn't promised anything.

This is getting interesting! Ron Paul dropped something else on the floor in a on Tuesday. Can they out the Drug Czar?
Today, the Fearless Campaign announced a new effort to keep pressure on policymakers to re-evaluate our broken drug policy and eliminate unnecessary programs that are ineffective and burdening taxpayers. The campaign is asking supporters to sign onto a petition, which will be delivered to the White House, as well as send a personalized message to the President.

On Tuesday, Congressman Jared Polis (D-CO) and Congressman Ron Paul (R-TX) proposed an amendment to H.R. 1, a bill to fund the government for the rest of the current fiscal year, that would cut funding for the Office of National Drug Control Policy. Eliminating the ONDCP, commonly known as the Drug Czar’s office, would represent a savings of more than $1.5 billion over ten years. Unsurprisingly, the legislation stalled in Congress.

To view the petition, click here.

To view the “send a letter to the President” campaign, click here.

On the campaign trail in 2008, President Obama promised to “go through the entire federal budget, page by page, line by line” looking to cut programs that weren’t working or were no longer needed. Republicans promised to do the same. At a time when we are considering deep cuts to well-functioning programs and facing a significant increase in the national debt, eliminating the drug czar would save $24 million each year and $1.5 billion in a decade. This is money we can’t afford to waste.

What's up with Michelle Bachman's gay husband? What does that say about her? He's a professional "Gay Deprogrammer" but... he's gayer than Richard Simmons getting humped by Liberace.

It's just weird.

bachmann,palin,romney,obama....

whats the difference again?

Well one difference would be that if Bachman was dictator of America people like me (gays) would be "deprogrammed" and or castrated, locked up in a cage for being a "sinful demon worshiping faggots". I wouldn't mind seeing her head staked up on a stick on the next gay pride parade! (which I don't attend, I'm just a 'normal dude' whatever that is)

So yea... Not everyone is the same buddy. I understand your point though, none of these people would change much of anything in a positive way. People just want to be the most powerful and important person in the country, to hell with the rest of us. It's hilarious how many people buy their bullshit these people spew every four years. We're going to end up a third world country one day.
